Pinstickers welcome as this has been a particularly unlucky race for me in the past, and I'm prepared to throw the form book out of the window for this one
Old wive's tales ?
Family or pet names ?
All welcome, remember the most successful horse in National history was the great Red Rum which when spelt in reverse spells Murder .... that describes the race from a betting point of view for me
The answer is in the skies....the rain has come and what does the song say "walk on through the rain" therfore clearly the pick is You'llneverwalkalone!!!
Easy.
has been quite a good race for me over the last 7 years with 6 winners with only Red Marauder (2001) at 33/1 doing me in and one of my ex bosses use to have an excellent system he followed for the National and i cant blimin remember it LOL
I will try and remember it.
I normally back 3 - 5 horses in the race.
I know some of it was dont back a grey horse and dont back a horse carrying 11 stone + and also dont back a horse under 8 years of age.
And only once in the last 9 runnings has a horse of 8 won the race . (Bindaree 2002)
The horse tends to be 9 or older and only 3 times as a horse of 12 or above won it since 1980 when ben nevis won.
I will back a horse aged 8-11
I will back a horse carrying 10-00 - 10.13
Also the horse cannot be a Grey!
Then i will just look at the form for the horses that fall into this group (Fall lol)
Bindaree looked nice last year at 20/1 and was 8 i would be preferable be looking for age group 9-11.
And only once in the last 18 Runnings (Rhyme N reason 1988 11-00) has a horse carried 11 stone + and won!
Jhim you might want to stick your pin in another place, Red Marauder has been withdrawn also Marlbrough and Kingsmark. There are others but didnt have time to catch them all.
I will stick with the red, and instead of pinsticking I'll go for Red Striker, good looking horse, not bad form , which probably means Red Ark will win
