Alloa Athletic are running out of time in their bid to avoid the drop back to Division Two.
With six games of the season remaining, Terry Christie's side trail eighth placed Ross County by three points and have vastly inferior goal difference.
The Wasps go into the game with one or two niggling doubts - Richard Walker (knee) - the most serious of those, but other than that they are close to full strength.
Christie has seen his side gradually grow in confidence, and despite another defeat to Falkirk last week, believes that his players can sense a victory round the corner.
He said: "Clyde are a highly organised team but we're playing much better football than we were and I hope this is the game we take the points from."
Clyde have three absentees from their squad for the trip to Recreation Park.
Veteran Paul Kane has retired, while Andy Millen starts a two game suspension.
In addition, David Hagan will miss out due to a hamstring injury.
Manager Alan Kernaghan hopes that Clyde can finish the season in second place, which he feels would be a major achievement for the Broadwood club.
He said: "We've come on this season and I think we've shown a lot of promise in the right areas."
St Mirren manager John Coughlin has a catalogue of injuries ahead of the second game against Arbroath in a week.
Martin Baker (Achilles) is a severe doubt to start the game, although Brian McGinty will face a late test and it is hoped he may make the starting XI.
However, Scott McLean (knee), Martin Cameron, Mark Dempsie and Ally Mitchell are all expected to need further recovery time and will miss out.
Bottom of the league Arbroath prepare for the visit to face St Mirren with a squad slightly improved from that which drew 1-1 with the Buddies last Saturday.
Andy Cargill played the last 15 minutes at Gayfield and looks set for a return to the starting line-up.
Further good news is that John Cusick is available after suspension, but on the minus side Eddie Forrest will miss out due to a back injury.
St Johnstone v Ayr United
St Johnstone are likely to be without two players as they bid to close the gap on league leaders Falkirk.
David McClure has picked up a calf injury and will be out for a couple of weeks, while Tommy Lovenkrands has returned to training, but may not make it in time for the game.
Saints manager Billy Stark accepts that his side will probably need to win every game from here on in as they trail the Bairns by six points with just six games left.
Ayr boss Campbell Money hopes to have a near fully fit squad to choose from for the difficult trip to McDiarmid Park.
Money may have to do without injury doubt Iain Nicholson, but has a rich vein of youngsters ready to plug the gap.
Money admits that the Perth clash will be difficult for his young side with the Saints still intent on winning promotion back to the SPL.
He said: "We expect a hard game up there with them still in the hunt for the title, but if we play our best football we can give them a fright."
League leaders Falkirk continue their promotion bid with a home game against Ross County enjoying a six point lead with only six games remaining.
The Bairns have no fresh injury or suspension concerns and are unlikely to make sweeping changes at this stage of the season.
Striker Collin Samuel returns from international duty with Trinidad & Tobago for the Brockville clash and should go straight back into the side unless he is fatigued from travelling.
County's latest signing, 19-year-old John Rankin from Manchester United, is not eligible to play.
However, other new signing, former Celtic and Dundee United midfielder David Hannah, is likely to go straight into the line-up.
County are also boosted by the inclusion of Connor Gethins, who returns to the squad following a hamstring injury.
Manager Alex Smith is particularly pleased that Hannah and Rankin have joined the club and hopes that the boost can help guide the club away from the relegation zone.
Inverness CT v Queen of the South
Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager John Robertson will find it hard to change the side that put Celtic out of the Scottish Cup two weeks ago.
Provided a few slight knocks in the squad clear up, Robertson will have a chance of naming an unchanged side.
Caley's promotion hopes may be remote, but Robertson knows that with a cup semi coming up his players will be keen to impress.
He said: "There will be no need to get the lads up for these games. They are professional and will also have an eye on a cup place."
Queen of the South manager John Connolly looks forward to the long journey north with two injury doubts for the clash.
Experienced goalkeeper Andy Goram and defender Alan Gray are both doubtful with injuries for the game which could see the Palmerston outfit mathematically safe from relegation.
Connelly admits he expects a tough game but insists his side have given Caley good games all season.
Stranraer v Berwick Rangers
Stranraer manager Billy McLaren is remaining tight-lipped over his team selection but he has no fresh injury or suspension concerns.
Three points would see the Blues leapfrog Berwick and keep their faint promotion hopes alive.
Although Stranraer lie in seventh they have a game in hand which could put them in the top four.
McLaren said: "Obviously we have games to catch up on but if we can start with three points against Berwick, you never know."
Berwick Rangers manager Paul Smith has some good news on the injury front.
Long-term casualties Neil Bennet (ribs), Alan Neil (knee) and Gary Wood (hamstring) are all set to return to the squad.
Rangers currently lie eight points behind second placed Brechin City, and Smith fears the return of the influential trio may just be too little too late.
He said: "It's a pity it's so late in the season for these lads to come back. We've had horrendous injuries but the rest of the lads have stuck in and kept us going. It's been real team effort."
Cowdenbeath v Brechin City
Strugglers Cowdenbeath entertain second-placed Brechin City with a fully refreshed squad after having last weekend off.
Manager Keith Wright still has several squad members missing with a variety of problems, but the only new concern is the suspension of Keith Wilson.
The Blue Brazil are six points from safety with six games remaining and Wright has called on his players for one big push towards safety in the last few matches.
He said: "It's do or die time now. We must get points to give ourselves a chance. The players will give it their all."
Brechin's influential playmaker Roddy Black will play his last game of the season in the trip to Fife as his side continue to chase promotion.
Black is to embark on a fireman's training course and will be unavailable from next week.
Chris Jackson returns to the squad following his absence for personal reasons last week.
Brechin are seven points clear in second place with six games to play, but manager Dick Campbell still refuses to contemplate promotion.
He said: "I won't be counting any chickens until the job is done, I'm just not like that. We've got a hard game with Cowdenbeath desperate for points."
Forfar Athletic v Dumbarton
Forfar Athletic manager Ray Stewart wants his players to use home advantage to ease their relegation fears.
Stewart's side are in fifth place but are only six points clear off the visitors, who occupy ninth spot.
The Loons are likely to still be missing injured pair Robbie Horn and George Shaw, but both will be given every chance to recover in time.
Forfar have plummeted into third bottom spot after a run of one win in the last four and Stewart knows that some strong performances are now required.
He said: "We must take advantage of this home game and take some of the pressure off of ourselves for the run in."
Recently appointed Dumbarton manager Brian Fairley has no fresh injury worries for the clash at Station Park.
Fairley was reasonably impressed with performance in his first game in charge, a 1-1 draw with Stranraer, and wants more of the same on Saturday as the Sons bid to avoid the drop.
He said: "I cannot fault the effort of the players against Stranraer."
Striker Danny McKelvie has been recalled from his loan spell at Johnstone Burgh after breaking his fibula, and could be out for the season.
Hamilton Accies v Stenhousemuir
Hamilton boss Chris Hillcoat may be without his two Ally Graham's for the home clash against Stenhousemuir.
Midfielder Ally Graham has a tight hamstring and will face a late fitness test, while striker Ally Graham has been suffering from a hip problem.
The Accies are one of the sides who still have lingering promotion hopes, but Hillcoat knows defeat could see them looking over their shoulders at the relegation scrap.
He said: "This is a big game. If we win it then we've still maybe got something to fight for and and if we lose it, we definitely have a fight on our hands."
Stenhousemuir boss John McVeigh is confident of a fully fit squad for the tricky trip to the Ballast Stadium.
The Ochilview manager will make late fitness checks on one or two of his players, but expects to be at full strength.
Mid-table Stenny are still in with a shout of the top two if they win their game in hand, but McVeigh insists he will be happy to finish the season with six good performances.
He said: "Whatever happens the players can do themselves and the fans justice if they play out the season with the same determination I've had from them all season."
Airdrie Utd v Raith Rovers
Airdrie United manager Sandy Stewart labelled his side's home clash with the league leaders as a "must-win game" if they are to claim a promotion place.
United will be without suspended pair Marvyn Wilson and Neil McGowan, but defender Scott Wilson is likely to return after he missed the Berwick game with a hamstring worry.
Stewart's side have a decent record against the Stark's Park side this season, losing just one of the four league and cup meetings this season.
Stewart said: "With six games left anything less than victory isn't going to be good enough, but we have done well against Raith this season."
Rovers are facing an mini injury crisis in defence ahead of the trip to Lanarkshire, with only three of the regular back five available.
Skipper Shaun Dennis is the biggest doubt with knee ligament damage sustained in the recent defeat by Stenhousemuir.
Central defensive partner Cristian Patino also has a knee problem, as does keeper Raul Ojeda - though he is expected to be fit.
Manager Antonio Calderon said: "We have difficulties with some defenders but we will use our replacements and take the game as it comes."
Albion Rovers hope that consistency of selection will help them leapfrog Morton in the Division Three promotion race.
Rovers lie fourth and the visitors third, equal on points with second-top Peterhead, making the clash at Cliftonhill the game of the day in Scotland's bottom league.
Peter Hetherston's squad again have a clean bill of health, so any changes will be tactical for what he admits will be their biggest game of the season.
"We can give anyone in the league a game on our day and, if we all do our jobs, this can be an important game for us," he said.
"But Morton are sure to be fired up for it too."
Matches between the two have been as close as the one point separating them in the table might suggest.
Rovers won the first two, with Morton gaining the upper hand in the last meeting at Cappielow.
Morton manager John McCormack is keeping his selection plans under wraps.
McCormack would only reveal that his players have trained well and that he expects to be relatively free from selection problems.
Anything less than a win could allow Peterhead to open a gap, with the Highland side favourites to dispose of Gretna at home.
But McCormack insisted: "No matter what happens, this promotion competition looks to me like it will go all the way anyway.
"We'll just try to keep our professionalism at a high standard from here on in."
East Fife boss Jim Moffat is determined that his side will clinch promotion through their own efforts rather than benefit from slip-ups by others.
The league leaders are favourites to dispose of struggling Elgin City at New Bayview at the same time as the third and fourth sides, Morton and Albion Rovers, meet at Cliftonhill.
But Moffat said: "We have to be very positive. We warned the players they should never base any promotion hopes on any other teams doing us favours."
Defender Euan Donaldson is rated only 50-50 for the game after suffering a groin injury against Stirling Albion.
And forward Ross Graham serves a one-match ban.
Newly-appointed Elgin City manager David Robertson has a fully-fit squad but will make some small-scale changes after what he saw in his first match in charge.
Robertson was pleased with his players' effort last week against Albion Rovers but is concerned about lack of firepower up front.
"If I get that application every week, I'll be happy," said the former Leeds United and Rangers defender.
"But not scoring is a problem. Only East Stirlingshire have scored fewer goals."
East Stirlingshire v Queen's Park
Alex Cleland was Steve Morrison's first appointment at Firs Park |
Queen's Park will on Saturday get the first taste of East Stirlingshire under the control of their new management team.
Caretaker Steve Morrison was given the job permanently in midweek and his first decision was to appoint former Dundee United, Everton and Rangers defender Alex Cleland as assistant.
Cleland may now be at the club propping up Division Three, but he has worked under respected bosses like Walter Smith.
"I've worked 15 years under people like Walter and I hope I can bring that experience to benefit East Stirlingshire," he said.
Morrison and Cleland promise changes to their line-up as they face one of the clubs they have to chase to lift themselves off the bottom.
Queen's Park will arrive boosted by the availability of Johnny Whelan, who had been suspended, and previously injured fellow midfielder James Allan.
Manager Kenny Brannigan said: "The players need to be more alert in games and we have got to increase our concentration levels.
"If we don't, as seen last Saturday, we will get punished."
Peterhead boss Iain Wilson will give Stuart Mackay until the last moment to prove his fitness for the visit of Gretna to the Balmoor Stadium.
The midfielder is a doubtful starter, but Wilson insists the player is so keen to play that he will not rule him out at this stage.
The Blue Toon can maintain their second place spot with a victory and Wilson admits that with Albion Rovers facing Morton, it could be an important weekend.
He said: "Yes, we could open up a wee gap if the others draw, but we'll concentrate on taking the points from our own game."
Gretna are tucked safely in mid-table and will be looking for a solid finish to an already comendable first season among the senior ranks of Scottish football.
Marc Cleeland and Mark Dobie are still suspended so recemt replacements Ryan McGuffie and Gavin Skelton should keep their places in midfield.
Montrose v Stirling Albion
Stirling Albion boss Allan Moore has decided against experimenting now that his side are out of the Third Division promotion race.
Albion are nine points adrift of the promotion places.
But Moore still wants to accumulate as many points as possible.
"We could experiment with some of the younger lads, but I want the club to finish as high up the table as possible," he said.
Montrose manager John Sheran is hoping to have several players back in contention for a place in his starting line-up.
Forward Steve Kerrigan and midfielders Graeme Thomson and Grant Johnstone have all been struggling with knocks but are nearing fitness and wiil be given every chance to make it.
Sheran admits his side are in a fairly comfortable league position and he is already preparing for next year.
"We obviously hoped to do better this season, but we'll plug away in the last few games and see if we can get some confidence going for next season," he said.
