Arsenal v Man Utd (Title Decider ?)

This is sure to be red hot betting heat

Early team news indicates that Patrick Vieira is only 50:50 to make the line up. He would be a massive loss if he is missing, as probably the most influential player on either team

I can't see man u losing this game

April 14 2003, 4:03 PM

Man U look in really good form at the mo. I just can't see them losing, especially when Arsenal look decidedly mediocre at the minute. It may be that Arsenal have just peaked too soon and are now petering out. Man U also owe them one from last year when they clinched the title in their own back yard. Just checked the asian handicap odds at gamebookers, Man U even money on a level ball asian looks good to me - what does anyone else think.

Re: Arsenal v Man Utd (Title Decider ?)

April 15 2003, 3:11 AM

A lot of United fans thought it would be the end of the errand at St James Park on Saturday and would have settled for a point, but if they can turn it on like that at highbury then Arsenal will suffer the same fate, they made hard work of Sheffield United and will have to do a lot better on Wednesday, rightly or wrongly I believe that Sir Alex has rattled Arsenals confidence with his mind games, looking forward to an open game with United going full steam from the off and not to play too defensive and try to contain Arsenal, which could be suicide if Arsenal get the first goal,no bet for me but will be down the casino watching on the big screen at 3.00am my time, hopefully to cheer the reds from Manchester onto victory.

no way

April 15 2003, 11:04 AM

ARSENAL will lose this. Their strong defence is not so stupid like the 1 of Newcastle on saturday to let in goals where the scorer stood wide alone few metres before the goalline. They lost unluckily 1:2 away and they will get revenge. A draw could be enough but a win is decisive so i am sure Arsenal will go for it.

I expect not many goals though...1:0,2:0, 2:1 or 0:0,1:1.

A very good bet imo

April 15 2003, 11:18 AM

I've been waiting for this game for a long time. I have a big stake on Manu to be champion @ 4.0 from betfair. But I have another good bet for this game. I have been betting on this kind of bet for 1-2 weeks and this has an amazing % and made great profit for me. Here is the bet:

Both teams to score @ 1.833 from Sportingbet

Fonbet pays 1.4 for the same bet.

Big stake is adviced here.

Hey Zodiac,
That was helluva good match analysis. You hit it in the head. I’ve had my doubts but now after reading your expert opinion I’m sure ManU is going to win

It's a fascinating clash ......

April 15 2003, 12:53 PM

and personally I would leave it until the last minute and see how the teams will line up before placing a bet. If Vieira plays then Arsenal would looks a solid pick at around 2.50 but if he misses the game then I would lean towards Man Utd +1/4, not a game for strong bets though ... it's one to savour with the title looking on the line

according to today's papers

April 15 2003, 7:10 PM

Viera will be playing tomorrow night as he has declared himself fit for the game...and that he came off on Sunday as a precaution.

Latest news ...

April 15 2003, 11:37 PM

...will be decisive regarding the players' fitness e.t.c.
Both teams are temperamental, but lately ManU seem more focused. If they are careful a bit more with their defence they have the upper hand.

Team news

April 16 2003, 9:21 AM

I hear that O'shea and Giggs are unlikely to start for man u and that Veira and Pires will be given the go ahead. Can anyone confirm this? If this is true Arenal at 2.50 looks great.

is a fav bet of mine for a couple of years and nice call mate!
I looked at Sportingodds and they didnt offer it and didnt realise that Sportingbet did
I backed bookings over 40 for quite a lot of money so that was cool and had 3 or more goals !

Nice bets people!

An enthralling game ....

April 16 2003, 9:59 PM

which I thought Man Utd controlled and were the better team. Two scrappy goals (one which was offside) cost them but I bet they are overjoyed with a point.

As for the sending off, Campbell had to go, he swung his elbow and made a connection .... enough said. He now faces a 4 match ban which will see him most of the run in and FA Cup Final.

It makes a change for Arsenal players to surround and pressure the referee and Ferguson to shake the Mike Halsey's hand at full time. How times change

I took the 3.50 for anyone

April 16 2003, 10:53 PM

to get a red card tonight..down to the stormy games of the past..so was pretty happy someone did   i wonder if the English FA will invoke the rule they passed that no -one can play for the international team in the next game they play if they were sent off in a club game for violent conduct.

Can't say I'm happy!!

April 16 2003, 10:58 PM

Had taken 5 points and under in the bookings market @ 5.10. As you could expect, Sol Campbell isn't excately my favourite person right now!!!
A cracker of a game though!!

it was a good game...

April 17 2003, 12:00 AM

but man utd were robbed.
The linesmen must of been getting a drink cos henry was at least 2 yards offside, i was livid, how could he not have seen it. I thought we were better throughout and maybe could of won the game.
An away point at highbury though is a good result and i think the pressure is on arsenal now to win their game in hand

Re: Arsenal v Man Utd (Title Decider ?)

April 17 2003, 12:22 AM

It was not that easy to judge Henrys offside. He was moving back towards Arsenal half and then turned instantly. Ref probably thaught (he needs some tenths of second to turn his head from player, who gives a ball towards the reciever. He was probably thinking, Henry sprinted towards ManUtd goal from behind defenders.
For me, offside rule is the most incompetent rule of them all cause it is imposible for ref to look at two players (who may be 50 yards away from each other) at the same time. So he needs to rely on his feelings. And obviously as we all know, sometimes feelings do cheat us...
