Greek league

Here I am again after a break for a week. Here is my view for this week’s games:
OLYMPIAKOS- PANATHINAIKOS: The time for the match of the year has come! Both teams without any problems besides Olympiakos’ long termed absences Elefteropoulos, Ze Elias and Patsatsoglou. Panathinaikos will miss midfielder Sainio but enither he was expected to play. Olympiakos needs to win by 2 or more to win the title. If he wins by 1 goal there will be one more, decisive game between these teams on neutral ground. Olympiakos’ coach is not going to use Anatolakis to face Lyberopoulos, but Antzas. Kostoulas will face Olisadebe with Amanatidis in the right side of the defence. These decision sound a bit strange to me.
Referee Borovilos, for those who care about that, has whistled twice in derbies between those teams and Oly won both of them. Panathinaikos has had many complaints from this referee and just a couple of months ago asked this referee to be excluded from Pana’s games…
And another detail: Pana’s coach Markarian remains unbeaten after he joined the team…
I think that odds >3 for Panathinaikos are too high as I think that the game could go either way and both teams have equal chances.
OFI- XANTHI: No motivation for both teams. Ofi played with young players last week and disappointed. Xanthi is already planning next season and made their first transfers. Ofi should win but NO BET.
ARIS- IONIKOS: Aris has 2 home games till the end of the season. They might lack motivation next week, but not now. However they have to play in the cup final next week against Paok. Ionikos also needs points to avoid relegation, but it will be quite difficult for them. Odds for Aris too low. NO BET for me
PANAHAIKI- AEK: Clear away win. If any handicap available, I would take it too
IRAKLIS- KALLITHEA: Iraklis is also planning for next season, but they have to win this game. Mietsel will leave the team, but Fofonka is going to stay. Kallithea are poor, especially away. They need the points but I don’t expect them to take anything from this game.
AKRATITOS- JANNINA: Both teams fight to avoid relegation. Poor performances for both sides last week.
EGALEO- PAOK: Egaleo has ensured their presence in the first league for next year. Paok should win this game but I don’t trust them very much…
PANIONIOS- PROODEFTIKI: I am pretty confident on the home win and I will use it in many of my bets for the weekend. Panionios needs to win to ensure their participation in next year’s Uefa cup. Absolutely no motivation for Proodeftiki which has already given away many of their players. 1.35 is fine for me

Good points Skoufos

Concerning the Derby between Oly and Pana ,I think that the visitors have the upper hand and it's highly unlikely that they will lose.Expekt offer +1 at 1.60 which is a must take price,to my mind.

Last time they met ,Pana were dog tired playing in Europe as well, yet they managed to score 3 against Oly and the 2 goals they conceded were own goals.Nothing has changed in Olympiakos' poor form since then but now Pana are in a better physical condition and rested so their chances are even better plus that in my opinion Olisadebe,(who always scores against Oly)Liberopoulos, even Vlaovic and Warzycha are in better form and more dangerous currently than Houtos,Alexandris,Qforiquae of the hosts. If everything goes according to form and what the 2 teams have shown so far ,given that Oly's defence is a shambles the best Oly can get is a draw.

I also believe that Panathinaikos is closer to win. +1 is certainly a must take situation. Moreover, I doubt if Antzas can stop Liberopoulos as he plays more like a midfielder and I even stronger doubt if Kostoulas can stop Olisadebe as he has had some nightmares in the past...

Also,

using Amanatidis in the right side of the defence means that ALL offensive efforts for Olympiakos will be made from the left side. Giannakopoulos will feel pretty lonely to the right!

Zoustos...

May 9 2003, 1:24 PM

Hello,hope you're doing fine.

I can't understand the Olympiakos -Pana percentages.Could you please tell me where you attribute the fact that Oly have a significant advantage? To me they are the weakest team of the four best currently. They are in poor form in every department and I can't see them getting more than a draw and that is debatable.Personally,I'm tempted to bet on an away win at so high odds.I further believe that from the next season Oly will have a totally new squad with a few exceptions.

Olympiakos - Panathinaikos....

May 9 2003, 1:46 PM

...Bening_man...
this analysis manipulates statistical data and only that.
http://www.zoustos.com/match.asp?HID=1288&AID=1284&ID=21217&LID=28
visit this page and you will see..

that Olympiakos at home is better that Panathinaikos away
Olympiakos scoring ability at home 37/8 +25 (average 2,64 per home game scored 0,57 conceded is better than Panathinaikos and their H2H stats show in 13 games from 1996
Olympiakos 6 wins 5 draws 2 losses and Never lost at home with Panathinaikos.
I'm not saying that olympiakos will win based only on this..but statistics give them a lead. Please keep in mind that this analysis is based mostly on the specific game and not on their overall performance in the Greek League.
you can always give your own weights in all factors taken account by OddsCreator at http://www.zoustos.com/myoddscreator.asp and see the results

Oly -Pana

May 11 2003, 2:48 PM

Tonight Panathinaikos fights for three possible results. Away win, Draw, Loose by one goal! Oly for one. Home win! My opinion is that Olympiakos will win by one goal and Panathinaikos will be champion after extra game! High stake from me to home win at @2.1 Eurobet. Good luck to all!

Good luck to all !

Hope everybody does well.Personally I think that Pana will victimise Oly today before their fans.I think Oly will be thumped.
I've betted a good amount on a clear away win but of course that's a personal opinion.

Not really Chronis...

May 11 2003, 11:32 PM

Olympiakos to my mind are a weak team. That's why they are thumped 3-0 by the likes of Maccabee whom AEK beat convincingly by a geat margin.
Today Pana played awful soccer and to me it's a total mystery why.So far Markarian had been unbeatable in the Greek league and Pana had conceded the least goals.
Olympiakos deserve today's win but a complete team can't have 2 faces, good in Greece and clowns in Europe.Panathinaikos are a better team and one awful result can't change that.Until today they had the most consistent results in this season.
Good luck to AEK.
(Real also lost 1-5 to Majorca and at home! That doesn't mean Majorca are a better team.)

Well...

May 12 2003, 8:56 AM

...according to Olympiakos and Panathinaikos performance their stats should be like Oly 60%-20%-20%
Panathinaikos played for 3 results and didnt even manage to lose by 1 goal.
I feel very sorry for them since 2 days before tha UEFA game with Porto their coach said that their first aim is the Greek Championship and performed awful at that game... as they did now...they had their chances.. and they throw them away...

..oddscreator Over 50% produced 7 correct results for this round

Agreed that Pana played awful soccer yesterday. In fact they played so bad, that they beat themselves rather than Olympiakos beat them.

So far, however, before the game, everything pointed to a good result for Pana and keep in mind that Oly hadn't managed to win a big match at home until yesterday.

They even lost to AEK 1-2 and drew with them away.Panthinaikos beat AEK at home,Olympiakos,Paok, all the big Greek teams. The facts of the champioship so far, plus that Markarian was undefeated for 40 games in the Greek Championship(!!!) which must be an all time record in the history of Greek football, pointed to a favourable result for the visitors.

I can't possible imagine what happened to the players.Even if they had been bought out by Kokkalis they would have played better.

the wildest scenario..

May 12 2003, 9:36 AM

....now is that both Olympiakos and Panathinaikos lose points in the last round and AEK with a win to win the championship..
I think its about time we see the Greek Championship taken unpredictably at the last round
I think AEK played the best soccer this year...

GO ARIS FOR THE GREEK CUP !!!!!!
