This afternoon the Belgian FA decided to annulate all past games from SK Lommel, which has a big impact on the standings in the Premier League...

1 Club Brugge CL 30 24 3 3 90-30 75
2.Anderlecht CL 30 22 6 2 71-28 68
3.Lokeren 29 18 6 5 66-44 59
4.Sint-Truiden 29 15 8 6 59-41 51
5.Lierse 29 14 7 8 46-37 50
6.RC Genk 29 14 9 6 67-49 48
7.AA Gent 29 15 12 2 48-46 47
8.Standard 29 13 8 8 47-35 47
9.Bergen 30 13 13 4 45-40 43

10.Westerlo 29 10 16 3 32-44 33
11.Moeskroen 29 9 15 5 40-62 32
12.Beveren 29 10 18 1 44-69 31
13.Antwerp 29 7 15 7 38-52 28
14.Germ.Beerschot 29 7 16 6 43-54 27
15.La Louvière 29 6 15 8 31-41 26
16.Charleroi 29 6 17 6 36-63 24
17 KV Mechelen 29 2 21 6 14-82 12
18 Lommel 0 0 0 0 0-0 0

Impact: Anderlecht is absolutely sure of the 2nd Champions League ticket, Lokeren is absolutely sure of the UEFA Cup spot next season. St. Truiden becomes 4th and fights with Lierse and Gent for 2 intertoto tickets. The winner of the Cup Final St. Truiden-La Louviere will take 2nd UEFA Cup ticket. Concerning relegation Charleroi is now absolutely sure they will not relegate, on condition they get a licence from the Belgian FA for next season.

In second division Club Luik was refused a license for next season (they will relegate to third), in 3rd division Berchem did not get a license for 2nd division, which means that no teams will relegate from 2nd to 3rd division. Finally chairman of Eupen today declared that his team has no interest to go up, which means they will not continue their fight for promotion (Eupen is standing second at the moment)...

wanted to add one more thing

May 10 2003, 5:44 PM

for the moment there is not so much interest going on anymore in Jupiler League (everything is already decided), so i will not write useless info next weeks, but when somebody has a question, they can always mention it, i will answer (pop up time and again on the forum, even when i don't write). And of course next season we'll (all) be back with fresh news big motivation. Also thanks to Jhim and Mark for their work, it is not easy to keep a forum running...

Lommel..

May 10 2003, 9:17 PM

...has withdrawn form the Jupiter league on March for financial reasons I think.
All games since March are marked 0-5 in favour of the opposite team.

went to soccer tonight

May 10 2003, 10:49 PM

saw Standard loose one more time, one more reason for me to hope the end of the season will come soon

But no, Deba, i will not go on holidays yet, so i'm still available till the end of the season for possible comment

and Jhim, this seems funny, because i just saw the soccerprogramme on Belgian tv and Lommel is not even mentioned anymore in the table, there's only 17 teams left, so i suppose this 5-0 or 0-5 are just for fun...

My (late) thoughts about todays matches:

GBA-Mons - Mons to win on asian 0:1/4 @ 1.76 with Gamebookers

GBA is missing some keyplayers (Walker, Cruz, Huysmans and most important topstriker Kpaka and playmaker Rudi), Mons misses only goalkeeper VdPutte. GBA has a bad homebalance and a lot of internal problems (coach will leave, a number of players...), Mons did not loose in 4 games and has in Roussel Belgians topscorer for the moment...

Lokeren-Brugge - X2 @ 1.30 with Gamebookers

Low odds, but i think Brugge will not loose this one. They can play relax now and face a Lokeren team which is a bit burned out and already sure of UEFA Cup next season. The absence of Vidarson, Bangoura (suspended by the club) and probably Zeré (injured) might be just that little bit too much for them. Brugge is still hunting some records (most points ever for a champion in Belgium, most goals ever and so on) so i think they will be keen to take the win here...

For second division Visé-Eupen might be the best choice, the visitors are already sure of play-offs (which start next week) and Visé can only get into the playoffs if they win...

Good luck
Phil
