Perhaps I'm getting a bit cynical ... but this match seems to almost be a bit of a circus. Beckham meeting Mandela for the media ... give me a break !!
South Africa are using this game to kick-off their bid for the 2010 World Cup finals .. and I just cannot see past this game finishing as a draw.
One possible bet is a HT-FT bet of England/Draw at a price of 17.00 at both SPORTINGODDS and SPORTINGBET.
So am I getting too cynical in my old age?
Is it worth a punt? What do you think ?

Cynical because of age? I don’t think so. Its almost certainly cause Arsenal handed over the title to ManYoo. Definitely a hard fact to overcame for any gooner
...however it is par for the course. Whenever a national team or big team goes out there, then Mandela
is always the guy they have to meet.
As someone with South African family and business interests I often wonder how the 'actual' president, Thabo Mbeki feels about the fact he is ignored in favour of Mandela.
Basically Mandela is god out there...I spoke to my family out there last night and there is an absolute uproar that Danny Mills and five other England players did not go to meet Mandela with the rest of the squad.
Several of the SA team went on the radio saying this is the ultimate insult and that the game means so much more to them now.
Personally...I see no problems for England inasmuch that they will not lose...however I never ever bet on friendlies so no bet.
I think England may be using the substitutions more sparingly tonight, as there are no club games afterwards. So we may see the strongest line-up for longer this time.
Unless South Africa have improved a lot from the World Cup, England will win if they take it seriously. However, the same applied to the Australia game, and the strongest line-up were behind at half-time in that game.
I betted sth on them to win.I read in the BBC that Ericsson was after a 'moral boosting victory' and of course S.Africa was the team one could hope they coould get it from.
