we are planning to move the forum to the new provider in June, probably the first week. I just thought I woudl point out to people who are starting a thread or discussion on an event that will take some time, or are starting to record their weekly picks that they might consider starting to duplicate their message in the new forum so that the record or discussion will also be there. Hopefullt the transistion will not take long at all and apologise in advance if it upsets the balance of any discussion started over the period. It shouldn't do though, but I would advise getting yourself signed up now and have anything you want posted for record purposes posted there too.

If anyone woudl like a string moved over to the new forum for example like Beri Beri who makes his string over a season I can do that its not a problem, it will all be copy pasted as one message with dates. Just let me know if I can help and also let me know if you can foresee any othe problems.

not sire why you had to register twice but can i get rid of one each of your logins, it gives an inaccurate reflection of the member numbers plus if I send an email letter out you are going to get it twice.

one, why are people setting up two logons, it must be a common mistake you guys are making as the system is easy, you click register and sign up a password is sent to your mail you wait for it then put it in and bobs your uncle?

Nassos you also have made two logins, I need to know which are being used by each person so I can delete the other.

If anyone is unsure about signing up let me know here and I can help, there shoudl be no reason for getting two logins?

I will give you an example, don't link to a picture of Ronaldo which is on soccernet.com it is illegal and could cause us to be shut down.I can check everyones and will do periodically to make sure no funky business is going on

you can set your name to Benign_man this is what will appear beside your posts, or you can just put Benign Man without underscore if you wish. Alwys what is set in your profile is what will show on the page and not your login name unless that is what you wish.

this is proboards version 3 and it makes network54 look like it was made before internet was invented. They are on the verge of releasing version 4 which promises OVER 100 new features.

I think the things people will appreciate most is maybe the instant messaging and also the fact I can IM and email everyone at once with important news. Also the ability for us to have a small amount of categorised boards is warming on me. I think the Strategies and Systems section will be particularly useful for those learning and will be a kind of study library to learn and pass the time.

My e-mail account (on which the password was sent) was deactivated (because it wasn't used for 10 days), so I couldn't get my first password. Then I reactivate my e-mail and asked for another password.

I just wanted to find out if it was a common thing that was causing people problems, don't worry about it

A lot of people don't read (including me) and so don't realise that the password will be emailed so when screen 2 appears I tried to enter my username and choose a password but I got error all the time so I tried to do it all over again. Then I realised that password is emailed to me and not chosen. Hence the double accounts

One thing I don't understand is why you aren't hosting the forum yourself? (prob discussed in another thread but I'm lazy today)... Looks good though

Jensen, firstly our current webspace is not mySQL compatible we have already tried this and I already explained in another string

We may revert to this sometime in the future, but it also presents its own problems because most webspace providers wil charge you for extra bandwidth and this forum uses a lot of bandwidth, with proboards its easy, it frees up our time if they are maintaining it, if we had our own and it fell over we may not be online to notice.

Plus I don't think there is many that can better the proboards forums, they arevery good and I think we will stick with them now.

So its partly incompatibility, bandwidth cost and laziness in equal measures

And before anyone else asks the advers and pop ups wil not be there when we move completely, they wil be gone on June 1st

if we start thinking of this as the second forum now and the other as the primary forum, and we can all migrate over the next week, as from June 1st this will be the old forum, a lot of people have joined up already and started posting so maybe we should get while the goings good

I tried to register on the new one but i keeps saying error acured and then something about a url which not good and if i am using a firewall i should temporarely turn it off ,but i am not so good with computers so i dont what it is all about ,

I regestered now and I have no problems with that. I have had my first post too!

I think what is happening is an incompatibility with proboards and your firewall, proboards has software it uses to detect people who are trying to block their adverts, it may be it still works even though I turned the adverts off, I know they give out a message if they detect software blocking their ads. Can you try switching your firewall off for 5 minutes then signing in, if this works I will speak to proboards and see if there is a way around this.

I have the same problems of Adi.I'm goin' to switch off the firewall and trying again...I'll let you know if it works...

I had the same problem i just adjusted the cookies bar and it was fine after that.

instruct your firewall to accept proboards, I know I can do it with Norton, its called seting up a permission I think. if you tell us what firewall you have someone else on the forum may know how to do it??

they want transferred just sign up and then instant message me from the new forum, I can search and find your logos and put them on our webspace, that way we are,'t breaking any hotlink rules, if you ever want to change your logo just let me know and you can tell me where to get the image.

join any time you want, from 1st June we will putting a block on posting here and leaving a message at the top to  go to new forum, will leave the old one maybe as a readable archive so people can copy anything they need then eventualy it will be a straight redirect to the new one.

some people are not crossing over to the other forum, its probably best you start your posts their now as thats where we will be going ver shortly
