Oregon is a mix. There's plenty of rednecks up in the mountains mixed in with liberal artist types (like my aunt and uncle near Blue River). Eugene is quite liberal-ish and has lots of vegetarian venues. Don't know much about Portland. For me, though, Oregon is too far north and gets too much rain (obviously not so east of the mountains, but then it gets damn cold there). I'm hoping someday we can move to Arizona or New Mexico. Oregon is still in my Top Ten States, however! Plus in Oregon there isn't much in the way of tornadoes to worry about (unlike Missery and Kans-ass).
