Actually, I have a long an interesting story to tell you about FF in GPL :O)
I used to drive GPL with non-FF, then got my Ferrari rig at the end of '99, tried my best with it all through '00 and abandoned it again to run the F2 GPL mini series with my non-FF again.
At that stage, I was about 40 secs down with my FF GPL rank against my non-FF, and so uncontrolled I would have been a danger to myself and others.
With the GP3 Topgear season, I switched back again (to FF - you are keeping up with this aren't you) and have driven the whole season with the Ferrari FF.
About 4 weeks ago, I got GPL out again, and now with FF, I am closing in again on my "best ever" GPL performance (now within 20 of my best ever, of which 11 are at the 'ring) with a couple of PB's amongst them. I also don't feel like I'm going fast, which is encouraging.
So what's my conclusion ? FF takes ages to get used, probably because of additional anticipation and different setup requirements. I still hate the notchiness and latency but feel reluctant to splash out dough on getting a decent rig.
