Just use George Costanza's line and explain that's it's only shrinkage
As for my race, I was quite surprised to find out I had done so well. When the guys were saying in the forum that they were into the low 1:16's and expecting 1:15's I thought I was in trouble because it wasn't till right before my qualifying that I had managed to break into the high 1:16's with my race laps mostly in the 1:19's. I figured I'd try to conserve my tires (for a change ) even though they were hards and although I didn't set any blistering times, my laps were pretty consistent in the 1:19's and only a single spin which put me in the 1:27's. Near the end of each stint (last 4-5 laps on a single stopper) my tires began to go away a little but I still managed to keep the times in the 1:21's. Maybe I should consider changing my style to drive a little less aggressively and try to conserve my tires more often
Out of curiosity, I just took a look at our setups and they were drastically different. I had 18-16 wings with a top gear ratio of 53 (which would be completely redlined at the end of the long straights, the way I like it - better acceleration in top gear) and you had 16-11 with a top gear ratio of 56. You must have been A LOT faster along the front straight, but a lot slower in the midfield section. The corner where I spun had been causing me all sort of grief during practise and I opted to go high downforce in hopes I would spin less...
See you at Imola!
