WHat more can one say, an all new car, granted thoroughly tested, a team in high spirits after the win in Spain and perhaps on a roll.
Montreal is a circuit where one must get into the groove, it's flat out over the start-finish then hard on the brakes and turning into a left-right, accel to the next right-left, hard on the gas through the sweeping right hander, onto the brakes then left-right, full bore till the next right-left, taps open and hard on the brakes into and out of the right hand hairpin, shuttle launch to, ooops mind the slight left kink and oh-so nearly straight and bumpy right jerk towards the pit entrance and the final right-left.
Yep thats Montreal, get it right 110% right and you walk away with the silver ware, loose concentration, just a split second, and you walk back to the pits to explain the armco modifications you had just administered to the car a number of people had spend hours preparing.
Qualifying? Perfect, but for a slowing Prost on the final run robbing us of a low 1m15.xxx sec lap.
Race? Good start, got away clean, no first corner heroics or crashes. Stayed in front and pulled away around 1 to 1.5 secs a lap. Caught the first tail ender on lap 14 (Salo,Sauber having pitted) got up to the real back markers on lap 17 but sliced through them quickly to win by a good margin.
Thanks to one and all at WengF1 for a job well done
Now it is Hungary, mickey-mouse and I HATE mickey-mouse tracks. OK lets get on with it, testing starts tommorrow (Tues) and already I feel a flu coming on
