My wife, two friends, and I have twice vacationed in Ireland. During our first trip, we drove through Allihies as we made our way around the penisula. We weren't in the parish more than half an hour, but the memories of the town, the ocean, and the surrounding mountains have stuck with us all these years. These memories lead my wife and I to start researching the town as a possible future retirement site.
