I have a strange little problem. I have a em-4 f system. The car ran perfect for a while, then, all of a sudden it backfired and quit running. I sat for a while in the middle of nowhere and scratched my head... Everything checked out, but I wasn't getting any spark, hmmmm.... hall sensor alignment, that has to be it... I marked the braket with the location that the sensor was currently in. then I spun the motor by hand, checking the seen, not seen screen. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the computer to see the magnets. After meesing with this for about fifteen minutes, the screen changed to seen , I thought to my self, "got it!" Once I had every thing tightened back up, I checked the hall sensor against the marks I had made previously, so close that my timing was only off by 1 or 2 degrees at most. I drove off, made it about 100 yards from where I was camped, and the same thing happend, backfires and then shut off. I checked the seen, not see screen again. magnets weren't being seen. I said the heck with it towed it the last 100 yards and let it sit until morning. The next morning I went out and hit the ignition, and the car fired right up.
What gives?????
Hall sensor bracket is strong engough, you could lift the car by it.
Air gap between the magnets and sensor are within spec.
sensor has no indication that it has been damaged in anyway.
Any one have any suggestions???????!
I have already checked the basics.
Thanks for you input, and thanks for reading this novel.
