      It gets really interesting to note that the Ark of the Covenant, contained in the Holy of Holies or Most Holy Place, was absent in the new temple that was built by some of those who returned from Exile, as described by Ezra and Nehemiah. Contained inside the Ark was the Tablet of Stones (possibly Ten Commandments) and according to Hebrew 9:4, also Aaron's rod and the manna from heaven. An elevated floor in the Most Holy Place was a recognition of the missing Ark. Above the Ark in the original temple stood the cherubim with wings, suggesting the abiding presence and protection of God.

      Figuratively, the law of God was removed from the exiles as a result of repeated disobediences that ended in the captivity and humiliation activated by Nebuchadnezzar. In terms of the grand scheme of God that "law" was reinstituted as one of the "heart," by which people would believe in the age of Jesus Christ. The destruction of the first temple in 586 BC and of the second (third) temple in 70 AD, doubly affirmed that God does not dwell in temples made with hands, and so provides a definite end to temple theology--that the kingdom of God is expressed in the military conquest of geography, but in a people who believe, know, and trust God. Also the ten commandments engraved in stones, disappeared with the destruction of the first temple, and this left room for the prophecy of the time to come in which the law would be in their "heart."

      Some suggest that since faith did not indwell the Israelites as it did Abraham (Gen. 15:6; Romans 4:3), those who believed God were "counted" righteous. Jesus said that "hardness of heart" led to various commands in the law, in that the Israelites did not "know" God and he was not in their "heart." As such Moses' Law was to discipline the people such that they would not totally destruct. This discipline maintained the Israelite nation and people so that the redeemer could come in due season. In this way the Abrahamic covenant is definitely a precursor for the covenant of Christ through grace and not by law.

      The book of Hebrews talks about these matters. "Believing" in God is a step below "knowing" God. "Believing" is evidence of something more remote, "knowing" is a more intimate relationship with God. In the new covenant, mankind will "know" God, and this is through Jesus Christ who "reveals" Him to mankind (John 1:18). Mankind "believed" God, but Jesus "knew" God according the the Gospel of John.

      As such, Abraham is the precursor of the revelation of God through Christ, in that it concerned belief with trust in God and not a covenant engraved in stone, as was the ten commandments. The Abrahamic covenant was given in Genesis 12:1-3. A covenant usually is expressed as "if you will do this, then I will do this" if it is duplex. A uniplex covenant is one in which God promises that "I will do this" and so is "unconditional" in that the insurer does not require an action from the insured. One could describe the new covenant as duplex in that God today says "with your believing in the heart, I will save you." It is also uniplex in that "belief" and "knowledge" in the heart is simultaneous with His "saving" us today. None of these statements in any way diminishes the importance of God's plan of salvation.

    ...........................THE BOOK

    What Happened at the Madison Church of Christ?

    There are thousands of churches being taken over across America.

    This book is only about one of those churches. It's about the Madison Church Of Christ. By studying the methods used here along with the resource references you might be able to inoculate your church. At the very least you will recognize the signs early on.

    Many of the current members of the Madison Church of Christ still don't know what happened.
    Some never will know! This book is for them as well.

    Madison Church of Christ was a 60 year old church. At one time it was one of the largest churches in the US, and the largest Church of Christ.

    It thrived for many years on the vision of it's elders and those of it's ministers. Those visions undoubtably came from the the inspired word of Jesus Christ.

    At sometime in the last 10 years there was a deliberate plan by a majority of the elders to take the Madison Church of Christ into a more worldly realm.

    They used secrecy, covert planning, and outside sources to scheme and to change the format and direction of the Madison Church of Christ.

    The Elders knew that the membership would never approve such a plan. Using the tools of the "Community Church Movement"(consultants, books, seminars, meetings,planters,seeders) they slowly started initiating change so it was never noticed by the members until it was too late.....

    At the heart of the plan was the fact that old members were going to be driven off so new techniques could be used to go out and reach the unchurched through new "Contemporary Holy Entertainment" methods developed by the "Community Church Movement"

    Old members had to be kept on board long enough to get their plans ready, or the funds would not be there to pay for the new building. So by the plans very nature, it had to be secret.

    The church had no plan in effect to renew or approve elders. There was never any need. The elders had always been "as approved by God". 10 of the last 15 elders would begin to shed some doubt on that.

    The Elders did not even need a majority at first, because some of the elders went along unwittingly.

    This edition starts shortly after some of the members begin to smell something strange in January 2001. Later editions may go back and fill in some of the timeline.

    To even start to understand whats happening here, you must read the background materials in the first of the book.

    This is only the first edition, and not the end. New editions will be printed as needed. To keep abreast of current changes, please visit our web site;

    Here is the list of players;

    5 Godly Elders
    10 Not so Godly Elders
    120 "Deacons" (allegiance unknown)
    2,800 - 4,000 church "members"
    2 "teners" (people who have publicly confessed to have broken all ten commandments)
    Unknown number of "sinners" (This is what the 10 elders call us.)
    Unknown number of "demons" (Flying everywhere, to many to count)
