How to remove legalism from our worship
Assist in the planning and preparation for Sunday evening worship services
a) Act as a support to the Director of Sunday Evening Worship
b) Attend weekly Worship Staff meeting (Tuesdays at 10:00am)
c) Attend weekly Worship Coordination meeting (Tuesdays from 11:30am-12pm)
d) Take administrative responsibility for the weekly production of the PM Order of Worship
e) Participate musically in services as needed
Assist in the coordination of special services, including Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and Easter
a) Coordinate rehearsals, including room reservations
b) Coordinate childcare, including room reservations
c) Coordinate catering/meals
d) Assist with the preparation of music (copying, preparing folders, etc)
Serve as a liaison to the Sunday evening worship participants
a) Communicate with Sunday evening instrumentalist, vocalist and pastoral participants
b) Catering: Arrange for a between service meal for all service participants
c) Visual tech:
-Prepare the MediaShout presentation and coordinate with the visual tech worker
-Assist in the procurement of visual images
Supervise music library
a) Pull and re-file instrumental and vocal music weekly
b) Prepare lead sheets, melody sheets, and chord charts as needed
c) Be proficient in using www.ccli.com as a resource
Assume directorial duties in the absence of Director of Sunday Evening Worship
a) Communicate with the preaching pastor and create Order of Worship
b) Run rehearsals and lead worship on Sunday evening
A clear and unreserved commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
Understanding of the difference between worship and performance
Exhibit excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Competence and training musically; ability to read music is required
Experience in leading worship

Understanding of the difference between worship and performance
Does this mean that the order of worship is significant by designating a separate period of singing songs that pertain to: were standing on holy ground; O worship the King; holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty from that of singing performance praise songs, such as: let us worship the Father [clap-clap-clap]; You have turned my mourning into dancing [literally do a 360-degree turn and dance]"; etc.?More questions later

The above wasnt so much a question as to illustrate a point. In the first place, there is no unity in the body of Christ when the so-called traditional worship is purposely designated as separate from the so-called contemporary worship. Such concept as practiced is a reminder of its political equivalentracial segregation. The separation clearly illustrates divisiona far cry from the teachings of the apostles that there be unity in mind and in judgment.
Whats accomplished in providing the above options is no more than just appeasement. And appeasement is hardly a description of true unity in the body of Christwhich is contingent upon wise and scripture-based decisions made by the congregations leadership.
It should be pointed out that even within the contemporary division, there are inconsistencies in the programmed musical worship [which can be a form of idolatry if care is not taken]. One moment a contemporary song with words that were standing on holy ground sung with what appears to be in solemnity and reverence; another moment an upbeat contemporary song sung with words You have turned my mourning into dancing with a few raucous and disruptive youths clapping and literally turning around to dance.
