The glory of God's power is seen when, by his providence, he turns the sinful deeds of the wicked to the benefit of His people. The Psalmist wrote, "Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain" (Ps. 76:10). Ahithophel was one of David's wise counsellors. When Absolom sought to overthrow his father and take the crown, Ahithophel moved to betray David. The young rebel rejected the advice of the old counselor for that of Hushai and the rebellion ended in disaster. Ahithophel committed suicide! The author of II Samuel tells us, "For Jehovah had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel to the intent that Jehovah might bring evil upon Absolom" (II Sam. 17:14). Paul told the Corinthians, "For there must be also factions among you, that they that are approved may be made manifest among you" (I Cor. 11:19). This is the Apostle's point in Roman 8:28, " them that love God all things work together for good..."

Today the Lord's church is greatly troubled by those who aspire to change her faith and worship. In fact they would change the very nature of the church designed by God and purchased and established by Christ! While the turmoil and confusion caused by the change agents is discouraging and destructive, those who remain faithful will one day see the following benefits growing from the change agent's treachery:

  • The controversy between truth and error will, in the end, be like the stone that sharpens the knife. Those who survive will have a stronger, purer faith. They will know what they believe and why they do so! Doubts will be swept away. They will be better equipped to give an answer for their faith (I Pet. 3:15).

  • After passing through the furnace of affliction, the church will emerge purified like fine gold (Zech. 13:9). The dross will be gone. Those who were unhappy with the simple faith of the Apostles will have left us for the beckoning fields of denominationalism or infidelity. Those left will be truly, faithful servants.

  • The chaff will have been blown away by the stormy winds. Scripture often likens the uncommitted, the hangers-on and nominal believers to the worthless chaff of the threshing floor. Many of this group will be captured by change agents or they will abandon the church. Those of strong, uncorrupted faith and convictions, like the valuable wheat, will be left to carry on God's work (Luke 3:17).

  • No longer will we be troubled by false teachers lurking in our midst as wolves in sheep's clothing. (Matt. 7:15). No longer will they be able to pretend that they are faithful brethren. Exposed, they will either have left of their own volition or been driven out as factious men (Tit. 3:10).

  • By then, there will be no doubt about where each of our Christian colleges and universities stand. Today, those most deeply involved in the change movement deny the fact and protest that they are still true and loyal members of the Church of Christ. In a few years, at their present rate of evolution, they will clearly be "formerly associated with the Church of Christ." We will know the few who are truly faithful to Christ, His word and his church. We can with confidence send our children to them for their education, knowing their faith will be fortified and not undermined. Better to have a few faithful schools than several that are breeding grounds for heresy.

  • Gone will be all of those books written by change agents that question the authenticity of the church and the scripturalness of her worship. Along with their authors they will be rejected as dangerous to the health and welfare of the God's children. The survivors will cast them to the moles and the bats (Is. 2:20).

  • Like a man recovered from serious surgery, the church will recover from this affliction. The abscess will have been removed and the church will be restored to soundness and health. Without the constant irritation of the change agents, she will grow and prosper as in days past.

  • By then, brethren will have learned the need for strong balanced preaching that emphasizes the true doctrine of Christ and the need for faithful obedience to his word! (II John 9-11).

  • They will have seen the danger of compromise with and tolerance of error.

  • They will have learned the reason and importance of marking those who cause division and occasions of stumbling among us (Rom. 16:17-18).

God will not leave his people to be abused forever. Nor will he allow Satan to have the victory over her. The church lived through this same kind of apostasy in the second half of the 19th century. She saw her finest days in the half century that followed. There is every reason to hope for the same happy results after the storm of change has spent itself. As has always been the case, "It is the remnant that shall be saved" (Rom. 9:27).

Which Biblical mentor will you follow?

May 17 2010, 1:04 PM

Those who make their quest in this world to persecute Christians who disagree with them will eventually follow one of three NT mentors, or patterens:

1. Saul/Paul, who came to realize that he was persecuting not only brothers he disagreed with, but Jesus and God Himself.

2. Gamaliel, who who while he discouraged active persecution of the brothers he disagreed with, never quite determined (at least not in the Biblical accounts) if those he opposed were of God or not.

3. The Judaizers, who never stopped insisting that only their interpretation of what it meant to be a Christian was the legitimate one and only their traditions were the legitimate traditions, and that all other interpretations and traditions were to be openily opposed and crushed.

What mentor will you follow?

Saul/Paul only came to realize that he was persecuting God/Jesus because God/Jesus intervened and TOLD him that his actions were wrong. In other words, the WORD of God/Jesus spoken to Saul/Paul showed him the right way. If God/Jesus had never intervened, then Saul/Paul would probably have never converted to Christianity and would have continued to persecute Christians. We have that same WORD today recorded in the New Testament. Those who are willing to read it, study it, obey it, and teach it to others will be doing what is right. Those who remain in the Church but who insist that the WORD and the Church are outdated and need to be changed are barking up the wrong tree. The WORD is eternal and does not change; neither does the doctrine of Christ's ONE TRUE CHURCH change.

Scribes, Pharisees, Hypocrites

May 17 2010, 11:22 PM

Did I tell you that Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites? Well, by absolute definition a hypocrite is a rhetorician, singer, instrument player, dancer or actor.

Christ who wrote the Isaiah and Ezekiel 33 pattern identified the hypocrites as "rhetoricians, singers and instrument players."

John called them SORCERERS in Revelation 18 who served as lusted after "fruits" under the Babylon mother of harlots. Rev 17

ALL claimed authority for instrumental music comes from the Levites in the cursed sacrificial system which Christ said had not been commanded. A musical instrument is defined as "a machine for doing hard work mostly in making war and stirring up the flesh in religious spectical."

...........................THE BOOK

What Happened at the Madison Church of Christ?

There are thousands of churches being taken over across America.

This book is only about one of those churches. It's about the Madison Church Of Christ. By studying the methods used here along with the resource references you might be able to inoculate your church. At the very least you will recognize the signs early on.

Many of the current members of the Madison Church of Christ still don't know what happened.
Some never will know! This book is for them as well.

Madison Church of Christ was a 60 year old church. At one time it was one of the largest churches in the US, and the largest Church of Christ.

It thrived for many years on the vision of it's elders and those of it's ministers. Those visions undoubtably came from the the inspired word of Jesus Christ.

At sometime in the last 10 years there was a deliberate plan by a majority of the elders to take the Madison Church of Christ into a more worldly realm.

They used secrecy, covert planning, and outside sources to scheme and to change the format and direction of the Madison Church of Christ.

The Elders knew that the membership would never approve such a plan. Using the tools of the "Community Church Movement"(consultants, books, seminars, meetings, planters, seeders) they slowly started initiating change so it was never noticed by the members until it was too late.....

At the heart of the plan was the fact that old members were going to be driven off so new techniques could be used to go out and reach the unchurched through new "Contemporary Holy Entertainment" methods developed by the "Community Church Movement"

Old members had to be kept on board long enough to get their plans ready, or the funds would not be there to pay for the new building. So by the plans very nature, it had to be secret.

The church had no plan in effect to renew or approve elders. There was never any need. The elders had always been "as approved by God". 10 of the last 15 elders would begin to shed some doubt on that.

The Elders did not even need a majority at first, because some of the elders went along unwittingly.

This edition starts shortly after some of the members begin to smell something strange in January 2001. Later editions may go back and fill in some of the timeline.

To even start to understand whats happening here, you must read the background materials in the first of the book.

This is only the first edition, and not the end. New editions will be printed as needed. To keep abreast of current changes, please visit our web site;

Here is the list of players;

5 Godly Elders
10 Not so Godly Elders
120 "Deacons" (allegiance unknown)
2,800 - 4,000 church "members"
2 "teners" (people who have publicly confessed to have broken all ten commandments)
Unknown number of "sinners" (This is what the 10 elders call us.)
Unknown number of "demons" (Flying everywhere, to many to count)
