Reorg. as in restructuring the CHURCH organization

July 28 2010, 6:17 PM

Reorganizing in the discussion has nothing to do with the order or content of "the worship service." Duh! As in order of songs ... the sequence of activities.

We're dealing here with Al Maxey's (and other change agents') attempt to restructure the church -- "pyramid" structure of the eldership; allowing women in leadership role; the church of Christ being just "another denomination" or the "church of Christ" being only one of religious bodies [along with the denominations: Baptist Episcopal, Presbyterian and other groups] that comprise the "universal body of Christ"; etc.

Ya Blew It Again Donnie

July 29 2010, 12:29 AM

We're not talking about reorganizing the order or content of the worship service Donnie. If need be, go back to the post where I spoke about the art of listening. Did you not see (yes you did, but chose to ignore it, not surprisingly either) where I spoke about 4 part harmony....a different way of singing with the first century church. Four part harmony was introduced later, just as were church buildings, books, A/C (does A/C and heating have anything to do with the worship?), PA systems, etc.

You clamor about praise teams, but you don't mind that the church has changed from unison to four part harmony. What would the first century church and the apostles say to their simple singing being hijacked with four part harmony? The nerve of us, right?

You mentioned also "the worship service." Funny, ain't it? All the while, that's the knock against our church and brotherhood, and you even went as far as to make it a spectacle by putting it in parenthesis. It's like rubbing it in the face of God. That we put some much emphasis on that sacred hour, yet forgetting about the other 167 during the week. I am surprised that you and yours haven't gone to holy robes. Coat and tie isn't enough. Go back to the days where the Lord's Table was covered with white cloths. No children being heard, being able to hear a pin hit the floor, also enabling those who need that 30 minute sermon nap to go unopposed.
Getting close to home Donnie?
Now there's ya 'DUHHHHHH.'

If Not Enoch Then It's Greek Mythology

July 28 2010, 3:57 PM

Why not just stick with the Pure Word of God? Is that just too much for you to handle? A man of God doesn't need to talk about Plutarch on Anthony....for a real man of God believes the COMPLETE Word of God to be fully sufficient.

Ephesians: no new wineskin singers.

July 28 2010, 1:05 PM

When Paul told the Ephesians to NOT get drunk on wine the literature says "getting fluted down with wine." This was the mark of Dionysus the old and new "Wineskin" god. The heresy that worship should be an exciting experience like getting drunk on the spirit are well defined in the literature.

Plutarch on Anthony.

"24. But presently he left Lucius Censorinus in charge of Greece, and crossing over into Asia laid hands on the wealth that was there. Kings would come often to his doors, and wives of kings, vying with one another in their gifts and their beauty, would yield up their honour for his pleasure; and while at Rome Caesar was wearing himself out in civil strifes and wars,

Antony himself was enjoying abundant peace and leisure,
.....and was swept back by his passions into his wonted mode of life.
.....[2] Lute-players like Anaxenor, flute-players like Xanthus, Metrodorus, a dancer, and such other rabble of Asiatic performers,
.....who surpassed in impudence and effrontery the pests from Italy,
.....poured like a flood into his quarters and held sway there.
.....It was past all endurance that everything was devoted to these extravagances.
.....[3] For all Asia, like the famous city of Sophocles was filled alike with incense offerings,

Alike with paeans, too, and voice of heavy groans.

Paian title of Apollo (Abaddon, Apolloni, Apollyon) Father of all musical worship.

At any rate, when Antony made his entry into Ephesus,
.....women arrayed like Bacchanals,
.....and men and boys like Satyrs and Pans, led the way before him,
.....and the city was full of ivy and thyrsus-wands "shaken reeds"
.....and harps and pipes and flutes,
.....the people hailing him as Dionysus Giver of Joy and Beneficent.

For he was such, undoubtedly, to some; but to the greater part he was Dionysus Carnivorous and Savage. [4] For he took their property from well-born men and bestowed it on flatterers and scoundrels. From many, too, who were actually alive, men got their property by asking him for it on the plea that the owners were dead. "

We have noted that the commentators say that this was only for women and effeminate males: If a male got up to sing and gesture and especially play the harp "he was drunk, perverted or just having fun." It is called mocking God.

...........................THE BOOK

What Happened at the Madison Church of Christ?

There are thousands of churches being taken over across America.

This book is only about one of those churches. It's about the Madison Church Of Christ. By studying the methods used here along with the resource references you might be able to inoculate your church. At the very least you will recognize the signs early on.

Many of the current members of the Madison Church of Christ still don't know what happened.
Some never will know! This book is for them as well.

Madison Church of Christ was a 60 year old church. At one time it was one of the largest churches in the US, and the largest Church of Christ.

It thrived for many years on the vision of it's elders and those of it's ministers. Those visions undoubtably came from the the inspired word of Jesus Christ.

At sometime in the last 10 years there was a deliberate plan by a majority of the elders to take the Madison Church of Christ into a more worldly realm.

They used secrecy, covert planning, and outside sources to scheme and to change the format and direction of the Madison Church of Christ.

The Elders knew that the membership would never approve such a plan. Using the tools of the "Community Church Movement"(consultants, books, seminars, meetings, planters, seeders) they slowly started initiating change so it was never noticed by the members until it was too late.....

At the heart of the plan was the fact that old members were going to be driven off so new techniques could be used to go out and reach the unchurched through new "Contemporary Holy Entertainment" methods developed by the "Community Church Movement"

Old members had to be kept on board long enough to get their plans ready, or the funds would not be there to pay for the new building. So by the plans very nature, it had to be secret.

The church had no plan in effect to renew or approve elders. There was never any need. The elders had always been "as approved by God". 10 of the last 15 elders would begin to shed some doubt on that.

The Elders did not even need a majority at first, because some of the elders went along unwittingly.

This edition starts shortly after some of the members begin to smell something strange in January 2001. Later editions may go back and fill in some of the timeline.

To even start to understand whats happening here, you must read the background materials in the first of the book.

This is only the first edition, and not the end. New editions will be printed as needed. To keep abreast of current changes, please visit our web site;

Here is the list of players;

5 Godly Elders
10 Not so Godly Elders
120 "Deacons" (allegiance unknown)
2,800 - 4,000 church "members"
2 "teners" (people who have publicly confessed to have broken all ten commandments)
Unknown number of "sinners" (This is what the 10 elders call us.)
Unknown number of "demons" (Flying everywhere, to many to count)
