Re: Praise Team (CHOIR) vs. the Congregation

Yes, we know but we take meds: some problems are beyond any cure. So, please be specific: we can take the heat.

Praise teams

November 30 2012, 8:25 PM

Has anyone noticed that Praise teams do not bring people to commit to the church or Chirst for that matter? So can we say that the special lighting systems, the expensive sound systems and all the time spent work on the perfect harmony are a waste and we should focus on the poor lost soul? Or do good Godly people have to watch and endure the ridiculous want-a-be-popular stage hogs?

You are correct: if you built, in the words of Shelly, a venue for rock and roll then that is what you will get. They are younger, may not have any money and never pay their way. Why should they? If they find a better "venue" then the butterflies will cluster around that honey pot until the get bored.

The Gospel is the power of God and these people say that Jesus was a liar. The Word will never, ever support an institute or a wannabe mega-church. You have to be able to be despised and rejected of men and go OUTSIDE the camp or massed multitudes. Only there has Jesus invited us to REST from the wimpy burgers intending to create the laded burden or "spiritual anxiety." You will get them hooked on the HIGH and they will come back. However, morphine usually makes people sick and they do not get addicted.

However, those who get a HIGH or a good feeling they will become addictive: science has said that music is one of the most addictive efforts. Music creates endorphins which produce the impulses of Fight, Flee or sexual arousal. A spiritual person will get sick and gag seeing the boylings outing themselves and either fight or flee. Those who are left CANNOT recover from the hard-wired connection between WORSHIP and the Musical sexual feelings they boast about. Carol Wimber of the Vineyard movement says that a sexual-like climactic with the spirit is the GOAL and the next act of worship is Giving of Substance. No pagan temple could have said it better.

Performing preachers, elders or musicians INTEND that you do not see or hear Jesus: not even Judas knew until the Devil entered into him but he was ethical enough to go hang himself and drift in the wind until his body rotted and splattered--like Jezebel.

Discerning Christians already know that those churches with praise teams, state-of-the-art sound and lighting technology, drama teams with elaborate sets and costumes, glitzy performers, and similar gimmicks have nothing but an entertainment agenda. The purpose is not to "teach" the Bible but to keep the gullible congregants coming back each week for more eye-and-ear candy and, hopefully, to keep the coffers sufficiently stuffed to expand those forms of worldly entertainment to unparalleled heights.

Very, very well said, AM!!!!

The man-concocted, non-divinely sanctioned MUSICAL Praise Team has replaced the congregational singing that churches of Christ have been known for, a.k.a. the scriptural methodology of "speaking to one another" in song -- "teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs."

The Change Agents' "Movement" has it for the progressive, liberal "church of Christ" so that the Praise Team is co-leading [AND this includes "them wimens"] ... co-leading with the Senior "Worship Leader." Don't tell me that all of the musical characters do not enjoy their performances.

Women in worship-leading capacity?

Just await the time and chance when a "lady" in pants is on stage with the men "worship leaders" -- all doing their right "charismatic" moves -- just like the performances you see on TV during televangelism shows!!!!!!

Do you not recall "in the beginning" when the Madison congregation experienced the exodus of hundreds of its members?

(1) The BROADER ISSUE was about the change agents hijacking the church by making changes to its beliefs and practices.

(2) The VERY SPECIFIC issue at the time was about the emergence of the "Praise Team" one Sunday morning. Loud microphones and the voices that had not ever been heard in the church assembly before!!!

And the problems in the church have not abated one bit since.

What else and how else can you tell the congregation's leaders?

  • "Worship Leaders" have come and gone!!!

  • "Praise Teams" came, but they HAVE NOT LEFT YET!!!

  • "Pulpit Ministers" have come and gone!!!

  • "Youth Ministers" have come and gone!!!

  • ["Gone" may be subject to one's interpretation -- "let go" or "fired" or "replaced" or "voluntarily resigned."]

  • "Instrumental Music" is being phased in ever so subtly and gradually!!!

  • Easter Sunday worship and Christmas celebration and "interactive drama worship" have been acquired from denominational sources.

  • Charismatic imitations have been evident.

  • Culture-driven methodologies (SCHEMES) to grow the church have been experimented {"INHALED").

  • Supposed "lessons learned" have not been learned lessons.

  • Sad and unfortunate, indeed!!!

...........................THE BOOK

What Happened at the Madison Church of Christ?

There are thousands of churches being taken over across America.

This book is only about one of those churches. It's about the Madison Church Of Christ. By studying the methods used here along with the resource references you might be able to inoculate your church. At the very least you will recognize the signs early on.

Many of the current members of the Madison Church of Christ still don't know what happened.
Some never will know! This book is for them as well.

Madison Church of Christ was a 60 year old church. At one time it was one of the largest churches in the US, and the largest Church of Christ.

It thrived for many years on the vision of it's elders and those of it's ministers. Those visions undoubtably came from the the inspired word of Jesus Christ.

At sometime in the last 10 years there was a deliberate plan by a majority of the elders to take the Madison Church of Christ into a more worldly realm.

They used secrecy, covert planning, and outside sources to scheme and to change the format and direction of the Madison Church of Christ.

The Elders knew that the membership would never approve such a plan. Using the tools of the "Community Church Movement"(consultants, books, seminars, meetings, planters, seeders) they slowly started initiating change so it was never noticed by the members until it was too late.....

At the heart of the plan was the fact that old members were going to be driven off so new techniques could be used to go out and reach the unchurched through new "Contemporary Holy Entertainment" methods developed by the "Community Church Movement"

Old members had to be kept on board long enough to get their plans ready, or the funds would not be there to pay for the new building. So by the plans very nature, it had to be secret.

The church had no plan in effect to renew or approve elders. There was never any need. The elders had always been "as approved by God". 10 of the last 15 elders would begin to shed some doubt on that.

The Elders did not even need a majority at first, because some of the elders went along unwittingly.

This edition starts shortly after some of the members begin to smell something strange in January 2001. Later editions may go back and fill in some of the timeline.

To even start to understand whats happening here, you must read the background materials in the first of the book.

This is only the first edition, and not the end. New editions will be printed as needed. To keep abreast of current changes, please visit our web site;

Here is the list of players;

5 Godly Elders
10 Not so Godly Elders
120 "Deacons" (allegiance unknown)
2,800 - 4,000 church "members"
2 "teners" (people who have publicly confessed to have broken all ten commandments)
Unknown number of "sinners" (This is what the 10 elders call us.)
Unknown number of "demons" (Flying everywhere, to many to count)
