The Law of Silence

Just wondering, if the law of silence prohibits instrumental music, why does it permit song books, church buildings, air conditioning, electricity, pews, and Bibles in English? Consistency demands these be prohibited as well.

The Church is A School of Christ in the Prophets and Apostles. Buildings were attended by Jesus but you can TEACH the Word by the riverside.

The Spirit OF [preposition] Christ defined the future Ekklesia or Church of Christ both inclusively and exclusively in the prophets. In Isaiah 57

In Isaiah 50 Christ defined the future MOCKING and SMITING of Messiah in a musical sense by the Levites

In Isaiah 55 Christ outlawed spending ou money for the Free Water of the Word. Beginning in the wilderness the only ROLE is to read the word for its' comfort and doctrine. Equating the Word and Spirit is universal.

In Isaiah 58 Christ outlawed speaking our own words or seeking our own pleasure.

That doesn't prevent Rick Atchley from using buffoonery to mock the Law of Silence.
2. Since honoring the commands of Christ for the future reign of Christ defined inclusively and exclusively to MARK those who mock His word.
3. The Spirit OF Christ in Jeremiah 23 says that is blaspheming the Holy Spirit of Christ

The premise/question above has been raised and answered numerous times already. After a while, the worthiness of such a premise diminishes to that of a third-grade level ... or lower.

The musical instrument itself is not the issue; neither is its location. It becomes an issue when it has to be determined whether God or the Scripture has directed or authorized it. The dynamics of worship changes as much when the congregation directs its prayers to a golden calf image as when a professional or a group directs its performances to the Lord as well as to the congregants.

It is factual that throughout history the pagan world has engaged in music [understood to be with "instruments"] and dancing in worship to their gods.

It is also true that even the supposedly "followers of God" also engaged in music and dancing on "their own" where God has not directed them to do so.

In short, there has NEVER been a directive from God or from Scripture for His followers to engage in musical idolatry. NEVER. NEVER. NEVER.

[Surprise!!! Quoting Psalm 150 and other passages that reference the use of the sackbut, harp, flute, trumpet as "worship" to God does not prove that God has ever directed His followers to worship Him with musical inventions.]

[Surprise!!! Using the argument that all of it has been nailed to the cross, including instrumental music in the assembly, is not valid. Why? Because the use of instrumental music was never a part of the Old Law. How can something be ended when it was never there to begin with?]

The list of external elements that have nothing to do with worship is a short one. Actually, why not include everything possible under the sun -- kitchen, sink, utensils, indoor/outdoor toilet, heating, carpet, water fountain, baptistery, etc., etc., etc.?

Comparing these physical, external elements [carpet, toilet] to an element [blowing the trumpet for the Lord, performing to/for the congregants] that affects one's internal, "spiritual" worship is laughable and moronic.

As far as worship is concerned, what we have as a directive is to simply worship the Father in spirit and in truth. If you cannot worship the Father in spirit and in truth, in reverence and in awe, unless there's musical noise to listen to or be entertained with, then, you have a problem with your spiritual worship.

...........................THE BOOK

What Happened at the Madison Church of Christ?

There are thousands of churches being taken over across America.

This book is only about one of those churches. It's about the Madison Church Of Christ. By studying the methods used here along with the resource references you might be able to inoculate your church. At the very least you will recognize the signs early on.

Many of the current members of the Madison Church of Christ still don't know what happened.
Some never will know! This book is for them as well.

Madison Church of Christ was a 60 year old church. At one time it was one of the largest churches in the US, and the largest Church of Christ.

It thrived for many years on the vision of it's elders and those of it's ministers. Those visions undoubtably came from the the inspired word of Jesus Christ.

At sometime in the last 10 years there was a deliberate plan by a majority of the elders to take the Madison Church of Christ into a more worldly realm.

They used secrecy, covert planning, and outside sources to scheme and to change the format and direction of the Madison Church of Christ.

The Elders knew that the membership would never approve such a plan. Using the tools of the "Community Church Movement"(consultants, books, seminars, meetings, planters, seeders) they slowly started initiating change so it was never noticed by the members until it was too late.....

At the heart of the plan was the fact that old members were going to be driven off so new techniques could be used to go out and reach the unchurched through new "Contemporary Holy Entertainment" methods developed by the "Community Church Movement"

Old members had to be kept on board long enough to get their plans ready, or the funds would not be there to pay for the new building. So by the plans very nature, it had to be secret.

The church had no plan in effect to renew or approve elders. There was never any need. The elders had always been "as approved by God". 10 of the last 15 elders would begin to shed some doubt on that.

The Elders did not even need a majority at first, because some of the elders went along unwittingly.

This edition starts shortly after some of the members begin to smell something strange in January 2001. Later editions may go back and fill in some of the timeline.

To even start to understand whats happening here, you must read the background materials in the first of the book.

This is only the first edition, and not the end. New editions will be printed as needed. To keep abreast of current changes, please visit our web site; http://www.concernedmembers.com/madison

Here is the list of players;

5 Godly Elders
10 Not so Godly Elders
120 "Deacons" (allegiance unknown)
2,800 - 4,000 church "members"
2 "teners" (people who have publicly confessed to have broken all ten commandments)
Unknown number of "sinners" (This is what the 10 elders call us.)
Unknown number of "demons" (Flying everywhere, to many to count)
