Heritage Church of Christ
Worship in a church of christ is defined exclusively as A School of the Word: the Campbells tried to restore A School of Christ but the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites (says Jesus) took it captive again.
Worship which has an performances of self-speak, singing, playing instruments or drama is defined as the mark of STRONG DELUSIONS marked by God with LYING WONDERS.
Both Pepperdine 2013 and the NACC 2013 intend to be VICTORIOUS by convincing everyone according to the NACC that the Book of Revelation is:
Shields: The Reality of Christian Worship as Depicted in Revelation
In fact all of the FANTASTIC things like BEASTS attacking the Church of Christ are defined as Effeminate New Style of Music and drama. We have collected the
MARKS displayed by the Pepperdine and NACC effort
As a SIGN that they will be Cast Alive into the Lake of Fire.
The ACU guys are calling down God's Holy Fire: don't be surprised that it happens this year.
Mike Cope and some new PLANTING institutions attempt to merge churches of Christ with Instrumental Churches. We have listed some of these groups and proven that the selected NAMES are "ways of escape" for any Disciple.
Mike Cope is teamed at Pepperdine to find and mentor young preachers to follow the pattern to doom. Dave Clayton ex Campus Minister at Lipscomb University has begun Ethos Church of Christ meeting in a bar and music store. The Instrumental Music supported by Hermitage Church of Christ is high power Rock and Roll. Good for us, God always provides a way of escape. The ETHOS word points directly to an end-time pagan religion which believes that music has the power to connect you to the gods.
Sounds like a sincere person who has LIT THE FIRES and seems surprised at the huge popularity. Jesus told us NOT to be popular
Mike Cope A Cappella Music
Mike Cope: A few observations from most discussions about a cappella singing:
First: Most people I know who want to preserve it arent trying to make their case in terms of its Gods way. Some do. One of our Christian college presidents not the one where I teach! once told me that he thought the use of instrumental music would send someone to hell. [Christ said that in Isaiah 30 Revelation 19:20]
(Just when you thought no one really, really, really believed that . . . .
Yes, I know you served the poor, you lived an exemplary life of compassion, justice, and worship but you used a piano in worship . . . .)
Most are talking about the strengths of the tradition a tradition that is preserved by several tribes.
Mike Cope is now in charge of the Workshops at Pepperdine: Next year he will bring in his "dear friend" Rick Atchley to carry on the blasphemy.
Mike Cope: Third: Most people I know who express an interest in having instrumental music are not wanting to lose the a cappella tradition. Its not an either/or. I seriously doubt that the Richland Hills Church will give up their a cappella heritage completely.
Jesus warned that doctors of the law take away the key to knowledge. He called the Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites. In the Ezekiel 33 example hypocrites are entertaining preachers, singers and instrument players. Can these people be that Biblically illiterate while posing as SCHOLARS or do they have a more evil agenda?
Maybe you should read this before you fall under the spell of the worship leaderettes in the morning. In response to an e-mail I have listed several proofs that modern "worship" is fulfilling the prophetic types.
It comes as no surprise that the COMMAND for worship clergy is derived from the Jacob-Cursed Levites. They prophesied or were soothsayers with instruments. The "Conservatives" may also be afflicted because they become violent when you suggest that being abandoned to worship the starry host and being sentenced to captivity and death beyond Babylon is NOT God's obsolete LAWS OF WORSHIP.
Parallels from initiations elsewhere are not difficult to find.33 In other words, Burkhardt recognizes that there was something going on related to the cultic nature of the event, not simply a frenzied lack of control.34 Examples of religious androgyny can be found in various forms in Syria and Asia Minor in the third century BC,35 but its clearest and closest expression in that area comes from the Roman Empire at the beginning of the Christian era. It is well documented that the Great Mother under the names of Atargatis or Cybele had androgynous priests, called Galli, who castrated themselves as a permanent act of devotion to the goddess.36 A particular version of the goddess is worshipped under the name of Artemis.
Galatians 5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
A. Based on the words Paul uses pointed to the emasculated priests of the mother goddess, Paul intends to CUT OFF the musical performers in the same way the priests were made eunuchs:
Apo-kopt , a.ta genntika, of eunuchs, Ph.1.89: abs., apokekommenos eunuch, LXXDe.23.1, cf.Luc.Eun.8:Med., make oneself a eunuch, Ep.Gal.5.12, cf. Arr.Epict.2.20.19.
Chrysostom was a Bible reader:
why do you not mutilate the tongue for blasphemy, the hands for rapine, the feet for their evil courses, in short, the whole body?
For the ear enchanted by the sound of a flute hath often enervated the soul;
and the perception of a sweet perfume by the nostrils hath bewitched the mind, and made it frantic for pleasure .
from the people of Yahweh (Deut 23:2; cf. cf. Isa 56:35) and the command against cross-dressing [equally a pagan cultic common place, as we noted above] (Deut 22:5). Since the context refers to pagan worship activities like child sacrifice to Moloch (18:21; 20:15) and the calling of ghosts and spirits (20:6, 27), religious homosexual androgyny may well be implied. Further proof is (a) the use of the term tôebâ, translated abomination or detestable custom, which evokes the notion of pure and impure worship; (b) the reference to both male and female shrine prostitution in Deut 23:18; (c) the mention of the quarters of male shrine prostitutes in the temple of the Lord and where women did weaving for [the goddess] Asherah. According to Richard J. Pettey, Asherah: Goddess of Israel (American University Studies VII, Vol. 74; New York: Peter Lang, 1990) 25ff., Asherah shows similarities to Anat. For other work on Asherah, see Tilde Binger, Asherah in Israel [New Translation of Khirbet el-Kom Inscription], JSOT 9 (1994) 318; John Day, Asherah in the Hebrew Bible and Northwest Semitic Literature, JBL 105 (1986) 385408; William G. Dever, Asherah, consort of Jahweh: New Evidence from Kuntillett Arjrûd, ASORB 255 (1984) 2137; Judith M. J. Hadley, The Fertility of the Flock: The Depersonalization of Astarte in the Old Testament, in On Reading Prophetic Texts (Leiden: Brill, 1996) 115133; Othmar Keel, Gods, Goddesses, and Images of God (Minneapolis: Fortress, 1997); Saul M. Olyan, Asherah and the Cult of Jahweh in Israel (SBLM 34; Atlanta: Scholars, 1988); Mark S. Smith, God Male and Female in the Old Testament: Yahweh and His Asherah, TS 48 (1987) 333340.
Since the Hebrew term, qedeshim, sacred ones, parallels the way the Syrian priests (galli ) were described as holy (hieroi ), there does seem to be reason to conclude, with Nissinen, that the qedeshim were thought of as men who had assumed an unusual gender role and thereby expressed their life-long dedication to the deity (Homoeroticism). Ringgren, Religions 167, mistakenly says that this was the only kind of homoeroticism prohibited by Scripture, for he fails to see the theological connection between androgynous homosexuality, religious or not, and pagan monism. In other words, there does seem to be some similarity between the assinnu of Mesopotamia and the qedeshim of Canaan. Egyptian goddess worship (Ishtar, Astarte, Isis or Anat) is also evident in Jeremiah 7:18 and 44:1725see Robert P. Carroll, Jeremiah: A Commentary (OT Library; Philadelphia: Westminster, 1986) 213 and 734735.
Note 33Walter Burkert, Ancient Mystery Cults (London: Harvard University Press, 1987) 105.
Note: 34Richard Seaford, In the Mirror of Dionysus, in The Sacred and the Feminine in Ancient Greece (ed. Sue Blundell and Margaret Williamson; London/New York: Routledge, 1998) 133, shows that transvestism functions as a right of passage into the cult of Dionysus. In the cult females may be like males and males like females (131). This is because liminal inversion of identity [is] required for mystic initiation. Such confusion is also seen not merely between male and female but also between human (or god) and animal, and between living and dead (132).

A step at a time - incremental apostasy
|November 5 2012, 4:01 PM |
One of the time tested and indicators of change is the method of bringing apostasy in a step at a time. An example is to bring in a piano into the church basement for the children's classes. Some of the comments relayed in the initial post above fall in that category. We keep our "traditional roots" in non instrumental singing in worship at the same time "we explore other forms of worship".
The problem is that a cappella is not a mere "tradition" . It is the way God intended us to worship by reasoning through the new testament. THe repeated use by preachers and teachers equating a cappella music with "our tradition" is in itself an indicator of problems ahead for any church. "Other forms of worship" are usually not worship but apostasy and a form of worship of human talent, certainly not authorized by the new testament.
I also sense that the many attacks on the KJV are related to music in worship and other "traditions" that are propaganda for the change agents among us. We are not a cultural phenomenon but the real church of Christ as long as we follow the Word.

It's true: Jesus never said "thou shalt mot musically mock me." Go ahead lying about "silence" and make God's day.
