Donnie's version on "sola scriptura"? What does it mean to Donnie? Should the Word of God be intertwined with pagan myths?

Donnie: on "Sola Scriptura"

May 4 2014, 1:09 PM

Sarge,

The answer to your last question is: "No, the Word of God should not be intertwined with pagan myths." The Holy Scripture speaks of (but against) fables and myths.

I have already posted a response to your published article on "sola scriptura" which should answer your other questions. Here it is (May 3 2014, 9:06 PM):

Thanks, Sarge. An excellent article explaining to those who may not know what "sola scriptura" means.

ConcernedMembers agrees -- "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (II Tim. 3:16).

Know that the Holy Scripture speaks of both good and evil in humankind. It cannot be denied that idolatry, including musical idolatry, is frequently described in the Bible.

Images of idolatry, of musical idolatry, from a historical perspective are presented here by design to illustrate and provide evidences for what the Holy Scripture has already revealed.

The message? We don't need inanimate objects and holy entertainment to worship and honor our heavenly Father. It is that simple. As simple as "sola scriptura."

In the long run, it looks like Biblical teaching would be much more effective and meaningful if there were NO mention of pagan myths whatsoever, or, if absolutely necessary, only very, very rarely. But when pagan myths occupy a good portion of one's "Biblical" messages time and time again, then one's priorities are out of control.

In the entire Bible (KJV), there are some 352 references to idol, idols, idolatry, fables, tales, images (graven, molten, carved, stolen) -- not to mention references to inanimate, lifeless musical instruments.

The word "gods" (stolen, found, strange, molten, served, worshipped, new, of the nations, other) are referenced in the Bible almost 300 times.

Perhaps, Bill, you're not yet in "the age of visual culture"? Hasn't it been said that: "Articles with images get 94% more total views..."?

Funny, I never knew anyone who preached or taught the Word of God who needed to mention gods, goddesses, and pagan mythology in each and every sermon to get people's attention. You need a rest, Donnie. Goodnight. happy.gif

Now you do, Bill.

Again:

The word "gods" (stolen, found, strange, molten, served, worshipped, new, of the nations, other) are referenced in the Bible almost 300 times."

652 references to idol, idols, idolatry, fables, tales, graven images, gods. Add 5 to that -- references to "goddess" in the Bible.

God must have a very good, valid reason for getting people's attention in that manner

Re: Donnie: on "Sola Scriptura"

We have noted that the command is to PREACH the Word by READING the Word from the Church in the wilderness onward. All of the Commands, examples and inferences are to SPEAK the Word which a Disciple of Christ will do without commands: those who sell themselves as able to further expound the world are grouped with bad girls. There is no remote connection between discipleship or learning and PLAYING THE FLUTE defined by the same Chalal word meaning to pollute or prostitute.

Jesus made it clear that HE EXPOUNDING the Biblical text which PROPHESIED OF HIM. He did not preach or sing anything connected to the Jacob-cursed and God-abandoned Levites who were instrumental sorcerers for a not-commanded sacrificial system. Paul in Ephesians 4 demands excising all of the performers because THEY LIE IN WAIT TO DECEIVE.

So, Donnie, in essence you're saying that congregations would be better off spiritually if their ministers downplayed Jesus' requirements for salvation and Christian living and spent far more time preaching about pagan mythology, gods, goddesses, idols, musikators, and the starry host. That's certainly a novel idea. I wonder why more ministers haven't thought of it.

No, Bill, CM is not a church or congregation, and it doesn't have a preacher.

Idolatry (including musical idolatry) and salvation are two different topics.

1 Timothy 4

New International Version (NIV)

4 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

6 If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters,[a] you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. 7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 9 This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance. 10 That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.

Sarge,

More passages:

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears" (II Tim. 4:3).

"Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers" (Titus 1:9).

1 Timothy 4 NIV

May 8 2014, 9:16 PM

The NIV won't help.

Dave or "Sarge" or one of the other multiple personalities does not want anyone to use myths or fables in the assembly.
I am not in his assembly.
Dave does not know the meaning of myths, fables, legends.
Dave does not want to know the meaning.
That means that he cannot say whether or not he is "teaching that which has been taught" (commanded of APT elders) and EXCLUDE those who do NOT agree to that which is written for our learning.

The Truth or LOGOS is the only resource for teaching: a Church of Christ is built upon or educated (the one piece pattern)by the Prophets (by Christ) and the APOSTLES who left us a memory of the Prophecies EXPOUNDED (just once) by Jesus.

Everything NOT the LOGOS (Regulative Principle) is a MYTH: a myth is not a fairy tale but a story someone tells INSTEAD OF PREACHING the Word by READING the Word for Commfort and Doctrine. Sermons, Songs, dramas (fables) are called MYTHS. Song writers and poets were NOT PERMITTED to write or record history: they cannot resist--like most histories--telling it they way THEY think it should have been told. George Washington did not cut down a cherry tree or toss a dollar across the river.

Re: 1 Timothy 4 NIV

Ken Sublett,
Since you CLAIM to 'speak that which is written' please show book, chapter and verse the story or any mention of the half man half goat god pan (plays the flute). Also show same (book, chapter and verse) for any and all extra quotes from Enoch that you have relied upon (from the book of Enoch, not the places that the Holy Scriptures mentions and talks about Enoch, but the book of Enoch itself where you have used such to support your erroneous fallacies.)

No, Ken, Dave does not want anyone to use Greek mythology (half man half goat flute playing god) to have to bolster the Word of God. The Word speaks of satan and his eternal home of damnation for those who would join his evil schemes. That is enough for me, but obviously, not enough for Ken Sublett's vivid imagination.

Ken mentioned the assembly and I know that he doesn't believe in complying to Hebrews 10:24-25
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

KJV is good for me too.....ok for you Ken?

Tell me now about the assembly being in the wilderness....sounds like the start to a good poem or song. Ken, you have relatives in the music world. Get them to put music to your poems. You never know how it will do.

Because I don't SELL (tithes and offerings) the free water of the Word demands the Spirit OF Christ in Isaiah 55 I don't HAVE to prove anything: you have to prove that you are not causing the Mark of the Beast which word includes the Great God Pan.

http://www.piney.com/Isaiah.55.Word.Spirit.html

2 Peter 2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness,
as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time.
Spots they are and blemishes, sporting<?b> themselves
with their own deceivings [delusions] while they feast with you;

You probably call them STAFF paid to do everything but Teach that which HAS BEEN TAUGHT (the elders "authority" which is derived). All recorded history including the Levite instrumentalists were called PARASITES.

Since you don't want the dupees to know your plot, here is what you want to do to defend the ALPHA BILLY GOAT, here is what I do an end run to report to those OF TRUTH..

Trupha? , (truph?) effeminate, luxurious, dainty, delicate, paizon
Paison paizĂ´ [pais] play like a child, sport,
4. play on a musical instrument, h.Ap.206: c. acc.,
Pan ho kalamophthogga paiz?n Ar.Ra.230; dance and sing, Pi. O.1.16.

Panes is on the map just below High Mountain where the Temple to Pan was located: Jesus stood in the very GATE of PAN's temple to say that PAN nor his FLOCK of Panites will prevail over the kingdom BECAUSE it is tucked away inside of the LITTLE FLOCK where the Alpha Goat cannot MOUNT them.

Any APT elder would want to get some answers to a few questions to MAKE CERTAIN that he is not THE GREAT GOD PAN.

For instance, what means the Gates of Hell?
What means upon this ROCK?

For those who need no authority:
What is the meaning of Capella from which the praise singers get ACappella?

If the Jews used the ROD to beat Jesus and all literate artist picture it as a flute of some kind pan pipe

Re: 1 Timothy 4 NIV

May 9 2014, 12:33 PM

This site seems to propose that people will have a much better appreciation for and understanding of the Word of God if the Word is mixed with abundant accounts of pagan mythology. After all, the Bible mentions gods, goddesses, and idols in excess of 300 times. Now as Donnie said, CM is not a church and there is no preacher or minister as such here. Nevertheless, it would be good to know if a significant number of ministers elsewhere "boost" all their sermons with abundant accounts of pagan mythology. If they don't, then there must be a good reason why they don't make an effort to emphasize pagan mythology.

Part B informing those practicing MYTHS and FABULAS

May 9 2014, 1:51 PM

We have noted that the Levites "prophesying with instruments" was soothing or sorcery using noise-making machines to derange the minds. Miriam and the Levites were prophetes or PRIMARY PARASITES before they left Egypt and fell into musical idolatry.

Acts 7 etal also says that God turned them over to worship the starry host: the LEADER of the MUSES is Abadon or Apollyon and the Muses were known as dirty adulteresses serving as Shepherdesses.

Ken, since you can't back up your fallacies and your book of Enoch with Scripture....it means just that.....what you teach is a fallacy...and that you have a vivid imagination.

Nothing more.

...........................THE BOOK

What Happened at the Madison Church of Christ?

There are thousands of churches being taken over across America.

This book is only about one of those churches. It's about the Madison Church Of Christ. By studying the methods used here along with the resource references you might be able to inoculate your church. At the very least you will recognize the signs early on.

Many of the current members of the Madison Church of Christ still don't know what happened.
Some never will know! This book is for them as well.

Madison Church of Christ was a 60 year old church. At one time it was one of the largest churches in the US, and the largest Church of Christ.

It thrived for many years on the vision of it's elders and those of it's ministers. Those visions undoubtably came from the the inspired word of Jesus Christ.

At sometime in the last 10 years there was a deliberate plan by a majority of the elders to take the Madison Church of Christ into a more worldly realm.

They used secrecy, covert planning, and outside sources to scheme and to change the format and direction of the Madison Church of Christ.

The Elders knew that the membership would never approve such a plan. Using the tools of the "Community Church Movement"(consultants, books, seminars, meetings, planters, seeders) they slowly started initiating change so it was never noticed by the members until it was too late.....

At the heart of the plan was the fact that old members were going to be driven off so new techniques could be used to go out and reach the unchurched through new "Contemporary Holy Entertainment" methods developed by the "Community Church Movement"

Old members had to be kept on board long enough to get their plans ready, or the funds would not be there to pay for the new building. So by the plans very nature, it had to be secret.

The church had no plan in effect to renew or approve elders. There was never any need. The elders had always been "as approved by God". 10 of the last 15 elders would begin to shed some doubt on that.

The Elders did not even need a majority at first, because some of the elders went along unwittingly.

This edition starts shortly after some of the members begin to smell something strange in January 2001. Later editions may go back and fill in some of the timeline.

To even start to understand whats happening here, you must read the background materials in the first of the book.

This is only the first edition, and not the end. New editions will be printed as needed. To keep abreast of current changes, please visit our web site; http://www.concernedmembers.com/madison

Here is the list of players;

5 Godly Elders
10 Not so Godly Elders
120 "Deacons" (allegiance unknown)
2,800 - 4,000 church "members"
2 "teners" (people who have publicly confessed to have broken all ten commandments)
Unknown number of "sinners" (This is what the 10 elders call us.)
Unknown number of "demons" (Flying everywhere, to many to count)
