Re: Shall WE continue?

January 1 2017, 8:20 PM

Sarge,

Please, no. Let's not continue.

Scripture's statement about the gender of "the Holy Spirit" is really worth discussing. It is controversial, doctrinally speaking.

The response to Scripture's remark is NOT civil. Sorry. sad.gif

Well it stands to reason that Donnie considers Scripture's and Dianna's posts to be the epitome of civility, because they both basically agree with everything Donnie and Ken say. According to Donnie's and Ken's attitudes, to disagree with their peculiar theology is to be "uncivil." happy.gif

Scripture-based theology is peculiar. Indeed!

I think it's a better idea to mention something about civil posts than to mention otherwise.

Re: Should Christians become involved in politics?

January 1 2017, 10:49 PM

Bill, I understand that to 'Trumpize' the statement "Jesus the Son is God the Father" is a bit raw.

If I had enough time, I would try to use psychology and invent a softer word. Here is what I mean by the CIVIL society before the present invasion of the BEAST people to gloat about "turning YOUR church into a Theater for holy entertainment." Hee, hee!

Plato Laws 936c There shall be no beggar in our State;
.....and if anyone attempts to beg,
.....and to collect a livelihood
.....by ceaseless making [Poieo meter, hymns] prayers,
.....the market-stewards shall EXPELL him from the market,
.....and the Board of city-stewards from the city,
.....and from any other district
.....he shall be driven across the border by the country-stewards,
.....to the end that the land may be wholly purged of such a creature.
.....If a slave, male or female, do any injury to another man's goods [return twice the value],

Poiema anything you make or compose: 2. Poetry, hē tōn dithurambōn p., tēs tragōdias, tōn epōn = song or lay accompanied by music, singing, minstrelsy and composing of dithyrambs have been invented for the sake of pleasure? minstrelsy, kitharodos (harpist). Melos the only musical melody word.

All religious musicians were called PARASITES.

-Plato. Republic [398a] “True,” he said. “If a man, then, it seems,
.....who was capable by his cunning [Ephesians 4]
.....of assuming every kind of shape
.....and imitating all things should arrive in our city,
.....bringing with himself the poems which he wished to exhibit,
.....we should fall down
.....and worship him as a holy and wondrous and delightful creature,

but should say to him
.....that there is no man of that kind among us in our city,
.....nor is it lawful for such a man to arise among us,
.....and we should send him away to another city,
.....after pouring myrrh down over his head
.....and crowning him with fillets of wool

If there be ANY APT elders they would obey the command in Ephesians 4 and escort them to the nearest employment SHORT of tarring and feathering them.

Now, that was a CIVIL society before God tore down the fences and let the BEAST into His vineyard which has been ruined (Isaiah 5)

Why?

January 2 2017, 6:14 AM

Why do I call Ze "Script" instead of SCRIPTURE?

Directory.com

1. Often, Scriptures. Also called Holy Scripture, Holy Scriptures. the sacred writings of the Old or New Testaments or both together.

If Script only quoted "SCRIPTURE ONLY" I might change my position. Anyone can see that is not the case. Ze does not fit the bill.

Really, just who does Ze think Ze is?

JMHO.

I wouldn't take bets that Donnie's theology is always pristine and Scripture-based; that's what makes it "peculiar." For example, Donnie denies that Jesus is God, denies that Jesus is eternal, when the Scriptures say otherwise in their own way. Of course, Donnie's arrogance and bias compel him to think that his theology is omniscient; suffice it to say that his theology is a bit "drafty" with some holes. We've been over this many times before.

I gather that Donnie's responses will reflect much gnashing of teeth. happy.gif

So it's once again back to the same old schoolyard argument:

Jesus is God.
No He ain't.
Yes He is.
No He ain't.
Is
Ain't
Is
Ain't
Yadda yadda yadda... happy.gif

Civility and agreement aren't like a horse and carriage.

Those of high integrity know the difference--and while they may disagree with someone--they can recognize civility when they see it.

Agreement with someone does not imply that a person will publicly announce that they are civil if they know that they aren't.

Medical practitioners are often not qualified to judge character.

Be slow to accuse someone of intellectual dishonesty.

Those who rail the most against having their character judged are often of highly questionable character themselves.

Sarge,

Why are you so curious about Script? I've lost track of the number of times you've posted dealing with this same favorite topic of yours.

I think that readers are waiting for you to participate in discussing doctrinal topics. There's no reason why you can't continue doing so.

Government

January 19 2017, 4:31 PM

Thanks for all the comments, both on and off topic. I took some time to study a little further regarding government and history. Truth seems to be in short supply in some governmental bodies. I agree that Christians would have a difficult time navigating politics in the upper levels. Perhaps getting involved in local areas could effect a grassroots movement. Although many small movements start out with good intentions, and then get co-opted by different and sometimes bad players.

...........................THE BOOK

What Happened at the Madison Church of Christ?

There are thousands of churches being taken over across America.

This book is only about one of those churches. It's about the Madison Church Of Christ. By studying the methods used here along with the resource references you might be able to inoculate your church. At the very least you will recognize the signs early on.

Many of the current members of the Madison Church of Christ still don't know what happened.
Some never will know! This book is for them as well.

Madison Church of Christ was a 60 year old church. At one time it was one of the largest churches in the US, and the largest Church of Christ.

It thrived for many years on the vision of it's elders and those of it's ministers. Those visions undoubtably came from the the inspired word of Jesus Christ.

At sometime in the last 10 years there was a deliberate plan by a majority of the elders to take the Madison Church of Christ into a more worldly realm.

They used secrecy, covert planning, and outside sources to scheme and to change the format and direction of the Madison Church of Christ.

The Elders knew that the membership would never approve such a plan. Using the tools of the "Community Church Movement"(consultants, books, seminars, meetings, planters, seeders) they slowly started initiating change so it was never noticed by the members until it was too late.....

At the heart of the plan was the fact that old members were going to be driven off so new techniques could be used to go out and reach the unchurched through new "Contemporary Holy Entertainment" methods developed by the "Community Church Movement"

Old members had to be kept on board long enough to get their plans ready, or the funds would not be there to pay for the new building. So by the plans very nature, it had to be secret.

The church had no plan in effect to renew or approve elders. There was never any need. The elders had always been "as approved by God". 10 of the last 15 elders would begin to shed some doubt on that.

The Elders did not even need a majority at first, because some of the elders went along unwittingly.

This edition starts shortly after some of the members begin to smell something strange in January 2001. Later editions may go back and fill in some of the timeline.

To even start to understand whats happening here, you must read the background materials in the first of the book.

This is only the first edition, and not the end. New editions will be printed as needed. To keep abreast of current changes, please visit our web site; http://www.concernedmembers.com/madison

Here is the list of players;

5 Godly Elders
10 Not so Godly Elders
120 "Deacons" (allegiance unknown)
2,800 - 4,000 church "members"
2 "teners" (people who have publicly confessed to have broken all ten commandments)
Unknown number of "sinners" (This is what the 10 elders call us.)
Unknown number of "demons" (Flying everywhere, to many to count)
