Thanks William, I'm sure someone is trying to cover their tracks. It's all about the time line.

It is also nice to have a professional computer programmer for your best Bud.

Re: The Evolving Creed of the Progressive Church of Christ

February 5 2017, 3:15 PM

Jesus is Prophet, High Priest, Prince, King over His kingdom which is "not OF this World Order" and which does not come with religious OBSERVATIONS led by people who usurp His Roles. Both IMPOSSIBLE for those OF this WORLD but simple and easy for the Faithful Preacher or Teacher, the Word or Logos excludes anything fueled by human invention or self exhibition. It claims to lift the load by supplying all of the songs and sermons. Note that in the epistles there is no The Holy Spirit as an imagined substitute for the Spirit OF God which is the Spirit OF Christ and allows no room to hallucinate three persons of the One LORD-GOD:

2Pet. 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained
like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God
our Saviour Jesus Christ:

2Pet. 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you
through the knowledge of God,
of Jesus our Lord,

2Pet. 1:3 According as his divine POWER hath given unto us
all things that pertain unto life and godliness,
THROUGH the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

2Pet. 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:
that by these ye might be PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Luke made this very clear as He summarized the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles.

Luke 1:74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
Luke 1:75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
Luke 1:76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
Luke 1:77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
Luke 1:78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
Luke 1:79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

The Remission of Sins is always connected to those who "call on the name of Jesus" by obeying and being baptized FOR the remission of sins and receiving the gift of A holy spirit. Jesus said My WORDS are SPIRIT and Scripture guarantees that you will never be able to read the WORD if you tamper with the direct commands of Jesus.

As usual, it is DESPISING the Word and Jesus to claim that no one was smart enough to say what the ANTI-WORD apostates say with nothing but their blinded misreading of a few passages by which they intend to TRUMP everyone else BEFORE THEIR ERA which is Post-Biblical and Post-Christian by their own boasts since they hallucinate that the Spirit OF Christ replaces Christ and now gives them visions (Lucado) or audible voices (Shelly) and answers to 40 days of arm twisting pray that God will certify their hidden agenda.

Re: The Evolving Creed of the Progressive Church of Christ

February 13 2017, 12:02 PM

We want to know what is going on. We look at sites of various churches to see about where they are. We will tentatively rank them according to the traditionalist, with scores of 1 to 5, with 1 being traditional, and 5 being progressive. Here's another point of view from a regional church

Western Hills Church of Christ, River Road area: statement of "What to Expect"

We begin at 9:00am with a short welcome and some songs (lyrics to the songs will be displayed on large screens). We then break for a brief “meet and greet”. Coffee is available in the atrium (the main entrance) at any time. If you are running late, please still feel welcome to worship with us! Prior to the sermon, we will sing songs and have communion. After communion, you have the option to have your child participate in KICS, or remain with you during the remainder of the service. After our children dismiss, David Estes will preach a compassionate message from God’s Word. An invitation will be offered. If you would like prayers from the congregation or would like to be baptized, you may come to the front row. Members from the congregation will also join you to comfort you during this time. As the service closes, announcements regarding church functions will be made. At this time we will also pass around a collection for a financial offering, as our guests, we do not expect for you to participate in the offering. After worship, we hope you decide to attend a Bible class. If you are unsure of what to do, just ask anyone around you and we will gladly point you in the right direction!

This is fairly laid-back and not very doctrinaire. More in the Campbell tradition of non-creedal. Lord's Supper is referred to as "communion" which is the mark of a "progressive" church. Message from Bible will be "compassionate" which we do not criticize although we do recognize the description. Baptism is referred to positively with a reminder about the order in which events occur. Church of Christ tradition is reaffirmed with information that giving is not expected from visitors. Bible class is emphasized which fits in with emphasis on Bible study. This is good.

On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being traditional and 5 progressive, I will tentatively give this church a 2.0.

So far:

Mt Juliet, 1.0
Western Hills, 2.0
Heritage, 3.5
Madison 4.5

Ranking the Rankest: Deipnosophist 3

February 13 2017, 9:52 PM

O.E.Payne wrote a textbook for the Instrumental Sects based on the PSALLO Word. Most if not all of his examples to prove that PSALLO means to pluck a harp string don't know that Psallo also means plucking the hair as the pubic hair of a younger males. The BEAST or Therion is A new style of music or Satyric (Pan, Cappella) drama. History knows of no exception to the MARK of religious musicians:

In Deipnosophistai 3 which we have now linked and posted:

"So active was the pursuit of love-affairs, since no one regarded erotic persons as vulgar, that even a great poet like Aeschylus, and Sophocles, introduced in the theatre love themes in their tragedies -- the first, that of Achilles and Patroclus, the second, that of the boys in Niobe: hence some call the tragedy "Paederastria;" [WOLVES] and the audience gladly accepted such stories.

And among the barbarians the Celts also, though they have very beautiful women, enjoy boys more; so that some of them often have two lovers to sleep with on their beds of animal skins.

As for the Persians, Herodotus says they learned the use of boys from the Greeks.

King Alexander also was madly devoted to boys. Dicaearchus, at any rate, in his book On the Sacrifice at Ilium, says that he was so overcome with love for the eunuch Bagoas that, in full view of the entire theatre, he, bending over, caressed Bagoas fondly, and when the audience clapped and shouted in applause, he, nothing loath, again bent over and kissed him...

"As for the Lesbian Alcaeus, thou knowest in how many revels he engaged, when he smote his lyre with yearning love for Sappho. And the bard who loved that nightingale caused sorrow, by the eloquence of his hymns, to the Teian poet...

Yes, he is the god of whom Anacreon, the poet on every man's lips, is constantly singing. Hence the most excellent Critias says of him: "Teos brought to Hellas that poet who once wove the strains of song with Woman as his theme, delightful Anacreon, flame of drinking-parties, cheater of women, of flutes the foe, lover of the lyre, full of delight, healer of pain. Never shall love of thee grow old or die, so long as a slave-boy solemnly bears round water and wine mingled for the cups, dispensing toasts from left to right, --

so long as feminine choirs do their ministry in holy night long vigils, and the scale-pan, daughter of bronze, sits upon the high peak of the cottabos to receive the drops of Bromian."

Licymnius of Chios in his Dithyrambs says that Hymenaeus was the beloved of Argynnus. Aristocles the harp-singer was the beloved of King Antigonus, concerning whom Antigonus of Carystus, in his Life of Zeno, writes as follows:

"King Antigonus used to have revels at the house of Zeno. On one occasion, coming away from a drinking-party at daybreak, he rushed to the house of Aristocles the harp-singer, whom the king loved greatly."

Sophocles was fond of young lads, as Euripides was fond of women. The poet Ion, at any rate, in the work entitled Sojournings, writes as follows:

"I met Sophocles the poet at Chios when he was sailing as general to Lesbos; he was playful in his cups, and clever. A Chian friend of his, Hermesilaus, who was the proxenus of Athens, entertained him, when there appeared, standing beside the fire, the wine-pourer, a handsome, blushing boy; Sophocles was plainly stirred and said: 'Do you want me to drink with pleasure?' And when the boy said 'Yes' he said, 'Then don't be too rapid in handing me the cup and taking it away.' When the boy blushed still more violently he said to the man who shared his couch

'That was a good thing Phrynichus wrote when he said: "There shines upon his crimson cheeks the light of love."' To this the man from Eretria (or Erythrae), who was a schoolmaster, made answer:

'Wise you are, to be sure, Sophocles, in the art of poetry; nevertheless Phrynichus did not express himself happily when he described the handsome boy's cheeks as crimson.

Scripture or History knows no exception and the Progressives do not even blush.

Re: Ranking the Rankest: Deipnosophist 3

February 14 2017, 5:18 PM

Dave, I'm not trying to threaten any churches, but more or less to advise regional churches concerning where they might score on various measures of traditionalism. These are just approximations on where they are, and the churches are free, to either take the measurements or to ignore them, as they please.

Churches of Christ are in danger of splintering, so a method of evaluation is taking place in the individual psych already, so we make this a little more public. Actually if we all have a better idea of where all of us are this can help us to adjust our practices and statement to bring about more unity, as Bill pleaded in his very last post.

Should the moderators deem any of these posts as not good for Concerned Members, they can simply let me know.

These measurements are of my own creation, and from time to time I might recommend how a church can either lower or increase their progress/regressive/digressive score with a few changes to their statement of "what we belief" or "what to expect." Scores are of course an approximation and I may change scores as I work in more churches.

...........................THE BOOK

What Happened at the Madison Church of Christ?

There are thousands of churches being taken over across America.

This book is only about one of those churches. It's about the Madison Church Of Christ. By studying the methods used here along with the resource references you might be able to inoculate your church. At the very least you will recognize the signs early on.

Many of the current members of the Madison Church of Christ still don't know what happened.
Some never will know! This book is for them as well.

Madison Church of Christ was a 60 year old church. At one time it was one of the largest churches in the US, and the largest Church of Christ.

It thrived for many years on the vision of it's elders and those of it's ministers. Those visions undoubtably came from the the inspired word of Jesus Christ.

At sometime in the last 10 years there was a deliberate plan by a majority of the elders to take the Madison Church of Christ into a more worldly realm.

They used secrecy, covert planning, and outside sources to scheme and to change the format and direction of the Madison Church of Christ.

The Elders knew that the membership would never approve such a plan. Using the tools of the "Community Church Movement"(consultants, books, seminars, meetings, planters, seeders) they slowly started initiating change so it was never noticed by the members until it was too late.....

At the heart of the plan was the fact that old members were going to be driven off so new techniques could be used to go out and reach the unchurched through new "Contemporary Holy Entertainment" methods developed by the "Community Church Movement"

Old members had to be kept on board long enough to get their plans ready, or the funds would not be there to pay for the new building. So by the plans very nature, it had to be secret.

The church had no plan in effect to renew or approve elders. There was never any need. The elders had always been "as approved by God". 10 of the last 15 elders would begin to shed some doubt on that.

The Elders did not even need a majority at first, because some of the elders went along unwittingly.

This edition starts shortly after some of the members begin to smell something strange in January 2001. Later editions may go back and fill in some of the timeline.

To even start to understand whats happening here, you must read the background materials in the first of the book.

This is only the first edition, and not the end. New editions will be printed as needed. To keep abreast of current changes, please visit our web site;

Here is the list of players;

5 Godly Elders
10 Not so Godly Elders
120 "Deacons" (allegiance unknown)
2,800 - 4,000 church "members"
2 "teners" (people who have publicly confessed to have broken all ten commandments)
Unknown number of "sinners" (This is what the 10 elders call us.)
Unknown number of "demons" (Flying everywhere, to many to count)
