What, exactly, is climbers tape? I'm almost done with my boat and have this to deal with yet. Where can I purchase it?

I faced against the same problem a few weeks ago. Maybe there is other ways but I simply sewn the 2 ropes together with a thread found in a boat store and it works just fine.

Good ice and & let us know about your icesailing season

Climbers tape is also called "tubular webing" or maybe tube strap. Another picture of it is at

I beleive you can get it at stores like REI or sporting good stores that carry accesory cord, ect.

Basically, it just interfaces the two ropes and takes up some of the twist of the larger rope that happens after half a day of constant sailing (like I did today.. yehaaa)
