Hi

Is there anyone out there building or sailing on the beaches of Cornwall England?
Would love to chat with anyone that is as I am building land flyer at the moment.

There is some great sand to run on here and would like to know if it is all mine or not.

I have decided to build whole chasis from ply as i work in the construction industry and have a ready cheap supply of this material, has anyone else done this? if so how did it work?

Well hope to here from someone soon!

Happy flying

Hi;

I have been thinking of trying to build an iceflyer up here in scotland, but I am having problems sourcing the hardware required, eg. wheels and bearings and the mast components.
Have you finished your project and where did you source these parts from, as the actual hull is not a problem to make.

Great to hear from someone in the uk.
Sorry for the delay in responding as work commitments have not allowed for me to spend much time on the project.
I picked up some wheels from a market trader last year but they may be a bit small so i am still looking for better.

You should be able to find a cheap windsurfing rig in your local paper or try ebay as they are often up for grabs for very little money.

As for all other hardware all you need is a good steel supplier and get your welder out, Harken blocks as specified can be brought from most chandlers (V Expensive)but worth it i think.

back to the subject of wheels there are several suppliers of go kart wheels here in the uk so they are worth a look.

Hope this helps you out a bit

Happy flying
