It would be interesting to find out just how many of all configurations of Ice Flyers exist world wide. Here in New England, I never see any where I usually sail and only know of the existance of six.
Anyone interested in participating in a survey to answer the question of how many Ice Flyers there are, email me at rnlivingston@tccsecure.com with the following information:
Owners name: (optional)
Location:
Type of Ice Flyer: (original Ice Flyer, Land Flyer, classic, or custom design, under contruction)
Where you sail:
Comments: (optional)
I will post the results when I have enough data.
Thanks

Hi Roger,
I have a 1997 "original" Ice Flyer iceboat package. I also have a wheel kit for it, so I can use it as a Wind Flyer too.
I also have 2004 Icebite/Dart.(that's what the builder named the Make and Model of it) It is a combination Ice Flyer and DN. It has an Ice Flyer "rear end" with the windsurf sail on the back, but a DN "front end" with a tiller handle to steer with in the cockpit. It also has wooden "T" runners.
I love them both!!
Hope to see you either on the ice, or in the desert!!!

My name is Boris. I'm located in Ukraine, Zaporozhye. I have got two samples of classic Ice Flyer, they are homebuilt in 2003. I tried them at Dnepr river and also at the Azov Sea at the Utluk lagoon.
My friens and I are very impressed! The next year they are planning to built some more.

So far I received about 20 responses to my survey from all over the world.
The results to date:
13 Ice Flyer Classics
9 Ice Flyer Originals
3 Wind Flyers
4 Modified versions of the Ice Flyer
Of course, there are a lot more Ice Flyers out there. I think it is a testament to Wally's design and his continuing effort to improve it, that there is so much interest in the boat.

Hello
I´m building a windflyer classic in 2001 and had a lot of fun
in France and Belgium. It works great, so thanks to WH
for the plans. The best thing are the eyes of other Landsailors with "normal" sails.
good winds

Hi, This is the first time I've surfed this forum. I know your survey is complete, but for what ever it is worth, I built 2 classic ice flyers from plans I bought from Wally. Must have been at least 5 or 6 yrs ago. My buddy and I still sail them. They are located in north eastern South Dakota.
Regards,
Jim
