What are some of you using for seat belts? Old car seat belts or new ones you purchase from a particular source.

I was planning to go to the local junk yard and pick up a set of car seat belts.

For my iceflyer... an old car seat belt.
works good ! Take a long one , it's easyer to buckle up specially when you are wearing a life jacket.

Hi Rodger,
Seat belts are available at your local auto parts store they are usally the push button type. This type of belt is a little awkward to get off with gloves on. Wally recently posted a story about takeing a swim and haveing an anxious few seconds trying to find that button. This is something that was botherd us even before we read Wally's story. So I have three alternatives for you two are tested one is being worked on.First go to the JC Whitney catalog they sell the old style seat belts like the ones they have on airplanes. On one of our boats were using a quick release belt that is used in stock cars this belt works well. Finally we are working on modifying a divers weight belt this has a large flip over buckle and looks very promiseing will let you know.

Thanks Dave

I like your suggestion of the old style seat belt from JC Whitney. That buckle I could release with gloves on.

Hi Roger,

I ride an Classic Iceflyer an I did used an airplan seat belt, easy to buckle or unbuckle and fully adjustable. So far I've been happy with the result!

Hope that will help you.

Eric.
