I am selling my Ice Flyer Classic which I built one year ago and sailed
one season. It was constructed of poplar, ash and mahogeny to the
original Ice Flyer plans. The plank is a 9 foot wing. Steering has
been modified so pushing with the right foot pedal moves the boat right
and visa versa. All Harken blocks, helper mast, custom sheeting system
and chinook mast base adapter. Uses standard Sarns type runners and
just about any wind surfing rig.
Price: $1850.00

Roger, I have enjoyed your pictures of your build and have started my own project after a year of collecting parts. I have been inspired by your enthusiasm for wally's design. Was the craft not what you expected? I am building mine as a landsailer as I live about an hour and a half from many suitable dry lakebeds.

I like building boats...in particular ice boats. The Ice Flyer was a great project and the boat sailed better than expected after a little tweaking. But I didn't get to sail it much, so I have decided to sell it to someone who will get more use out of it. And then I will start building another one. I want to see if I can make it lighter and possibly rig it with a conventional mast, boom and sail. I'm in the process of working out the details now.
Good luck with your new Land Flyer.
Roger

The Ice Flyer is still available. I have to admit, the closer we get to the sailing season, the more reluctant I am to sell it. But I need a project over the winter and selling the Ice Flyer will finance my next Ice Boat.
