Have a new favorite playa. On the gravel road about 35 miles west of Winnemucca, Nevada, look off to the northeast from the Bottle Creek intersection. The playa is about 6 square miles, 90% of which has an excellent surface. Remote, scenic, quiet as a tomb. The jack rabbits and dust devels declined to come out to play this trip and the pea gravel roads in the area are a bit slippery, but the obstacle course at the south end is special. The obstacles are bushes, dirt mounds, piles of rubble, and old car bodies. The spacing is a bit wide to be challenging in the flat 3 wheeled mode, but in 2 wheeled "scrambler bike" mode, perfect. |
