It just doesn't sound credible does it - that they are in it for the love of the game?
You say that they will make other money from using the rink as a venue, but apparently this will happen regardless, so again what benefit is there to them from this offer?
Can only realistically be one of two options:
1. They want to have the power to sub-let included in the lease between the council and Reds (Properties) Ltd as this would mean that they could rent out the building to promoters, nightclubs, etc and get a lot of money for doing very little. This would also increase the value of the lease should the council need it to be surrendered early (shopping complex); or
2. That all the gumpf in the last fortnight about not needing ISL or BNL is untrue. If it is true, why were we not told at an earlier stage that this was the case? Why were we not told at the start of the summer that the lease would not be voided if the team failed in an attempt to stop the protests?? Has anyone seen the lease? Has anyone verified it with the council?
