So, loadsa, at last you are starting to understand the problem facing the Devils - You've got it in one when you say that no-body feels they are able to talk yet.
The reason cannot be any surprise either. In view of recent events, why should the FODs (or indeed any Ice Hockey fan) have to negotiate anything with BP?
At the moment we continue to be by no means alone in seeing the two sides as still being 'us' and 'BP'. This matters because BP has NO right to run a team anywhere - not just in Cardiff. The ISL threw him out, and even the FBNL refused every application which included his name.
The Ice rink is a PUBLIC building - NOT one of BPs night-clubs or a private shop. BP knew that as a bad tenant, in his landlord's eyes he had become little better than a squatter awaiting eviction - hence the big issue about allegedly selling the company that owned the lease (laughably) for '...an undisclosed sum' in order to dis-associate himself from the building.
So... NO rights to the team, and NO rights to the rink.
As his agent Mr Candy automatically has NO rights either, and therefore cannot claim to be in a position to offer the fresh start the Devils desperately need so that they can survive.
BP has proved that he is a millstone around the team's neck. This is why we are asking Mr Candy to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he has no links with BP before we will even consider talking to him about the team's future.
If we are to believe the hype, it's not really asking that much of him to do this. However, whats the point of talking if he can't - what could it possibly acheive?. |
