If no-one had signed...

If no-one had signed would we have complained – hell no! That’s what we want.

If this Cardiff team fails then these owners have to forfeit their right to the rink and we can get owners in who actually give a damn about the sport, not owners which we believe are using our club to further their own other businesses.

I truly hope that these players do get paid in full for their efforts but I feel that if they do not they have only themselves to blame.

As I have posted elsewhere, try to imagine this (entirely fictitious) scenario:

Guildford owner wants to take the Flames into the ISL. He says this is because he thinks it is right for the club. He also owns a hotel next door to the rink which is used to accommodate visiting fans. You think that the decision to move to the ISL has been made because he wants more away fans to visit Guildford and stay in his hotel. In short he is using the team to make more money on a private venture.

Would you:
(a) Go and watch that team?
(b) Not watch the team, failing the company and allowing other backers who see hockey as a priority to take over.

I don’t like the fact that a Cardiff team is being boycotted, but if it is needed to preserve our long term future then it is definitely a price worth paying.
