A very reasoned and pertinent question which has had me worried of late. The answer? I honestly don't know. I don't think it will affect me personally as all of my "block mates" are not supporting the current team.
I do believe that a lot of damage has been done, but I also believe that the majority of people who watched the first game were "true" fans as they were largely made up of new people.
I think that there WILL be continued animosity though, and that this is probably the greatest tragedy in all this.
