Hello all, first timer here to the Forum (please excuse my test post!) First need to say I'm a "newbie" to Lowlife, and regret not discovering this amazing band earlier. Two years ago a friend sent me a copy of San Antorium, which has since earned a spot on my Top 10 of all time list. What a masterpiece of songwriting, performance, and production. "Suddenly Violently Random"--god, could a song be more perfect? Probably trailing just behind The Chameleons' "Second Skin" on my all-time song list, too!! Both songs I could listen to on repeat mode all night and never get tired of. The friend also sent me "Gush," the reissue of which i'm eagerly awaiting. I've just completed my reissue collection recently, so lots of songs to get inside of. Standouts so far (excluding San Antorium): Wild Swan,Perm. Sleep, Eternity Rd., Given to Dreaming, Ramified, and the entire "Black Album," the best demos collection of all time in my humble estimation. These are more like prayers than songs. The best music speaks directly to the soul, and this to me is something Lowlife has an abundance of. Which is why I was quite shocked to read some of the nasty comments aimed at Mr. Lorentson (sir, it is a privilege and honor to share this Board with you if you're reading my post, amazing voice and lyrics!!!). The sensitivity and emotion expressed in Lowlife's music and Craig's vocals/lyrics, you would think, would appeal to a more sensitive audience. Anyways, I'm here to support Craig and the band, not drag them down. The fact they are writing/playing again is incredible news. Very happy to be here. Until soon...

Wild Swan,

I feel so stupid because I haven't logged in here in over a year. But I feel compelled to react to your posting. I truly know how it feels to hear Lowlife for the first time. My first album...Diminuendo--which I played over and over and over--(ad infinitum, I think in 1986) studying for a physics exam which I aced. My obsession has long since gone on to other bands, but I check back here ever so often to guage feedback.

What you might want to know now is that you are part of a rare community. Need more info, we have it. Want to chat with other fans--go for it. Want to see Lowlife live in the US--ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Even I gave up that dream.

But just in case, I still have a house in Austin that will sleep the whole band. I extend the invite again this year.

Hi Chris....always thrilled to meet another Chameleons fan. I may have met you at one of the S.F. or L.A. shows... Those were some fun times, eh? (you're not by chance the same guy who crashed in our room at the Atherton in 2000 are you??)

I know Craig will appreciate you writing in...I agree, it does seem strange that most of us understand the man and his voice are by far Scotland's richest treasure while others are saturated with a malicious ill will.....go figure...

The important thing here is just to enjoy the music...and we do...

From a fellow wild swan,

Colleen
