      Aaliyah was never recognized as the princess of hip hop n r&b. Only the few Aaliyah-crazy fans thought she was. Mary J. Blige was the hip hop n R&B princess Ashanti's replaced. Ashanti has said several times thats who she looks up to. So I suggest u get ur facts straight. Ashanti's style is sooooo different than Aaliyah's was. Ashanti wears a lot of hip, trendy clothes, and a lot of beautiful dresses. Aaliyah started out as a tomboy and when she got older, she started to wear a lot of revealing stuff. I'm not going to call her names for the stuff she wore like in her video "We Need A Resolution", cuz I am respectful of people who r no longer with us and her fans.
