Wait hold up. Every1 might have their own opinions, but this one is mine. Ashanti isn't trying to be like Aaliyah. Aaliyah and Ashanti is way different from eachother. They ain't even classified in the same record label. Aaliyah was really recognized after the fact that she's dead now. (No offense). The reason she is recognized now is because of the way she died. Yeah, Aaliyah make da bomb songs and all, but like I said Ashanti and Aaliyah is not the same. They both have their own style. Aaliyah got her own thing. Ashanti use other people beats either to represent that person, or bring back the good ol' times. Y'all don't know what y'all talking about. Her songs sound AOK to me. Not to be on either one of them sides. But, I think y'all are doing the wrong thing talking about "Is Ashanti trying to take Aaliyah place?" She's not. Aaliyah isn't the only one who have long hair, or light-skinned, or even wear dressy (or tomboyish) clothes. Other people can do the same. And, that's my opinion. NOW, eat that up!
