Free Batteries for Dimage G600 Camera

I try and recycle stuff I don't need or can no longer use.

Would anyone like a couple of free batteries for a Dimage G600 camera? (They possibly fit other Konica Minolta compacts as well.)

The sliding shutter cover and on-off switch broke on our out of warranty Dimage G600 camera and Sony wants too much money to fix it. (The sliding frontpiece on-off switch was a poor design on these cameras and I figured it was the weak link in an otherwise very decent pocket camera.)

There are two batteries sitting on my desk going to waste that I will send to someone if they can use them - you pay the postage - the batteries together weigh 1.7 ounces, one first class (.41 cents) and one extra ounce .17 cent stamp. You can send a self-addressed stamped envelope for the batteries if you like.

The batteries are NP-500 3.7 volt. One is the original made by Minolta, and the other is a clone battery I bought as a spare. The clone's label says it replaces: DR-LB4 and NP-600 and NO-500 so both batteries will fit these other uses. The Minolta battery is an 800 mAh and the other is a 1000 mAh battery.

Both worked, but both have been out of the non-working camera for a good month or more so I cannot verify their condition. Since I cannot test these batteries you assume the risk and they are offered with no warranty as to their usability or condition.

If you would like the batteries send an e-mail to (remove the spam-bot insert):

Best to all,
Walt

thats a nice offer for free batteries , unfortunately I have nothing which will take it, i commend your effort to recycle tho. i searched throu quite a few places ~/ here and you come to realise how much waste goes on, and how few retailers have any kind of recycle program.

Fix Stuck Lens

January 16 2008, 4:06 PM

There is a thread on this site that describes how you can fix the stuck lens yourself. It is located at http://www.network54.com/Forum/151930/message/1126156668/Fixed+Stuck+Lens+-+Dimage+G500 and is called Fixed Stuck Lens - Dimage G500. Following the instructions worked great for me and fixed my G600 that I thought was a lost cause.
