What is your background... did you go to school in the USA. anyways...
what study book did you use...
I used the kaplan review and study the book cover to cover and answered all the question trainer, plus i used saunders q&a CD,,, this helps me too..

i suggest that you study differently the first time you tried to pass the nclex

study your content.. you need to have a good foundation of your content...

practice your critical thinking, triage, prioritising, delegation,

THank you for your reply. This time I started to review contents from the book Saunders and NSNA plus still answering the Q/A at leats 100 questions per day.

I am working here in Dubai and trying to work in USA. Again thank you very much and more power.

i just took my nclex-RN exam and passed ,with God's grace,on 75 questions.
For 2 months i studied like i've never stuides before, consistent study is very inportant.my preparation mostly focussed on reviewing nursing content from Saunder's and then practicing questions from Kaplan's question trainer.I feel that for anybody who's preparing for Nclex, both Saunders (review book) and kaplan practice CDs and question trainer are equally important in that they help u in areas of both knowledge and critical thinking.Don't consult many books, they leave u with more confusion than ever.hope this info helps u with planning your preparation.
Best of Luck.

I passed the boards on 10/7/05 with 75 questions. I used Lipponcott's Nursing Review, Nursing Made Incredibly Easy and registered at ERIworld.com.
I suggest you study one topic at a time out of several books. For exampe:
I studied maternity and peds out of all books first(of course, one at a time) and after answering one question at a time, I went right to the back of the book to see if I was right or wrong and read the rationale. This makes the question and answer stick in your mind more. Then move on to the next question.
If you are taking a cumulative test and it shows you score low in safety and effective care or basic care and comfort, assessment, eval..etc...(for example) Then go through Nclex books and find those questions with that category and review.
Good luck! This was my 6th time taking the boards and I graduated in 1997. So I am definitely blessed!!

Try something different

My daughter failed her first try at NCLEX - she had done
well in all her classes and took Kaplan - she took 125 questions and failed. Then she went to Hurst Review Live - she loved the course - it was 4 days and got materials to take home and review. She intensely studied the material - it was 100 pages. Then right before the exam she took the practice test which had a CD that reviewed each question. She went into the 2nd exam more prepared but feeling alot of anxiety. She didn't think she passed - she had 165 questions and thought she did better but not sure it was good enough. She found out today - she passed. Try something different - find the right thing for you. Look at the Hurst website - maybe it would work for you - it worked for her. You can do it.

Hi how are you fine I hope. I took my test in October and I failed my test to, I just knew that I was going to pass because I studied just like you, and in nursing class I was an a&b student.I studied everthing in sight and I believed in god, and my pastor prayed for me but I still did not pass, because it was for a reason, if you get any sources let me know but put god first because that is what I am going to continue to do lets keep the faith and keep praying. God bless you.
