In 1996 I graduated from LPN school and I was 6 mos pregnant with my first son. Within a month of graduating I sat for my board and was devastated when I got failing results in the mail. I was told I had to wait 90 days to test again, by that time I had my son and frankly was too intimidated to set through the boards again only to find out I didn't pass. I ended up having two more boys and finally this year out of the blue I decided I was going to take my boards again. I diligently studied everything I could get my hands on b/c I tell you after 10 yrs I was having a hard time with just some of the main medical terminology. I took my NCLEX on Wed July 12th. I went in feeling great and after the 3rd question the wind was knocked completely out of my sails. They say when you answer correctly it gets harder till you miss one. They were all hard to me. I was the last person to enter the test room and my test shut off at 85 and I was the first person to leave. I absolutely knew that I bombed. So much so that once I got to the car I had a full on panic attack. I came home and went through all the forums on this site and still didn't feel good about it. I told everyone that asked how I thought I did that I knew I failed it. I called Pearsonvue today just to verify that I failed and to my absolute shock all I heard was Congrats before it felt as though someone pulled my legs out from under me. Needless to say I had to spend another $10 to call back just to verify that I really did pass it. My test had so much priority of care and tons of check all that apply questions. It was horrible but I guess when its your time to pass you will. I studied from the Lippincott NCLEX-PN review made incredibly easy both books one of them is all questions. Good Luck to everyone and remember even if you dont pass it the first time you eventually will. I did it after 10 years so its proof that anyone can.
