Hi, there was a band known as the RAOC Blue Rockets, though orignally they were the No.1 Balloon Centre Dance Orchestra. If you know your WWII history you'll know why there were Balloon Centres, and what RAOC stands for (if not get back to me :0)
The band was formed by Eric Robinson but during 1942 they were led by Eric Tann (Eric Robinson was one of the violin players). They made 24 recordings in 1942, Zoot Suit was recorded June 24, vocal by Alan Kane, issued on HMV BD-5751.
Some 'toy soldier' criticism from the press led to the band folding for a short while, but they reformed and continued till the 1950's.
