Despite not starting until midseason of his freshman year, Clausen already ranks among the top five on UT's career passing yardage (5th, 4,442), completions (4th, 348) and TDs (2nd, 37) charts ... His numbers after two seasons are nearly identical to those of Manning, who went on to become the Vols' all-time leading passer ... Needs 1,956 yards to overtake Kelly and become UT's second all-time leading passer ... Undefeated as a Vol starter in regular season games after taking over at midseason against Alabama...Finished season with 121 completions on 194 passes for a UT freshman record 1473 yards and only six interceptions...Held out of first two games while battling tendinitis in his throwing arm, he made his debut against Louisiana-Monroe and connected with David Martin on 19-yard touchdown pass on his first play...In first start, against Crimson Tide, he completed 17 of 24 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns...First TD came in opening period when he hit Cedrick Wilson for 23-yard score...Brought Vols downfield on winning touchdown drive against South Carolina, completing six of seven passes, including a third-and-14 near midfield to Donte’ Stallworth...For game he was 19 of 31 for 152 yards...A week later, against Memphis, he did it again, directing drive that ended with game-winning field goal...Completed 19 of 30 passes for 224 yards against Memphis...
