...happened -- prevent someone from making it to the general election. Now in the fall they perhaps get two decent choices. And, in an election area that is heavily tilted to one party or the other, that may be a huge benefit. They know they are likely to lose in the general election, so they vote in the primary that has the greatest chance of effecting them and their district. | |
