I didn't vote for the lottery for two reasons...

1. It is a tax on the poor. Any way you break it down, this is what it amounts to.

2. There is no such thing as extra money to a school system. Once you start feeding them lottery money, they budget for it and it is spent just like the rest of it. In fact, I have heard in Florida, the school systems get less money from other sources because they know they will get lottery money. So the net result is that there is not as much "extra money" as they advertise.
