Chemotherapy for breast cancer and memory loss

I have been having breast cancer treatment, including four different types of Chemothapy and Radiation treatment since May 1999. I have noticed an alarming loss of memory, especially with time frames and locations. Can any one tell me if the Chemothapy is responsible for my memory loss or am I just distracted with the constant fight with an agressive and determined enemy! Please reply to pconnolly@cqnet.com.au Thank you

Chemotherapy for breast cancer often means tamoxifen, which is sometimes associated with deleterious effects on cognition. In addition, the mental and physical stress of your current situation will also make it harder to function well. Finally, you must go over your symptoms with your oncologist so that your medical status and laboratory work-up are thoroughly reviewed.

TAMOXIFEN/ESTROGEN/MEMORY LOSS

i HAVE BEEN ON TAMOXIFEN FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR BECAUSE OF "HARMONE" (ESTROGEN?)RELATED BREAST CANCER. IT IS THE ONLY NEW MEDICATION THAT HAS BEEN INTRODUCED..I HAVE TROUBLE REMEMBERING WHAT SOMEONE SAID TO ME WITHIN A FEW MINUTES AFTER THEY SAID IT..ROUTINE THINGS AT WORK ARE HARD TO RECALL AT TIMES. COULD THIS BE RELATED TO THE TAMOXIFEN WHICH i WAS TOLD BASICALLY ELIMINATES THE ESTROGEN IN THE BODY.
