Oh dear, is this band a guilty pleasure for me. For one thing, you probably heard this band as the precursor to Uriah Heep, with Ken Hensley as the keyboard player and main leader of the band. They called themselves the Gods and name their albums Genesis and To Samuel a Son. Though there's no David Byron in band, the vocals already reeks of cheese. They did a cover of the Beatles' "Hey Bulldog" and West Side Story's "Maria", which is not unlike Vanilla Fudge's way of covering songs.
And yet, I always feel somewhat giddy when listening to their albums. Even with all of those flaws, they're not as bad as Uriah Heep's
ahem most acclaimed albums. But still...
Anyways, listen to this, and feel free to condemn me.
