I suspect George doesn't care much for Van Morrison. I vaguely remember some rather disparaging remarks in some of his articles. On the front cover of "Down the Road" in the photo of the record shop there are record sleeves of the artists which have influenced Morrison's most: Ray Charles, James Brown, Ray Charles, Chet Baker... I think if Blues Rock and Pop can be regarded as an evolutionary tree this is a branch which George has tended to ignore.
My personal favourite Morrison album is Veedon Fleece.
