I was more likely referring to the temptation of "slaying sacred cows" that we all fall under every now and then (and "Ram", which has gained quite a lot of respect in recent times in all sorts of critical circles, was just one example). Naturally, if you really slay a sacred cow in real life, you have to expect that you will be stoned by angry mobs upon sight. On the other hand, trying to politely explain to the mob that, perhaps, the cow has little reason to be considered sacred, might do more good. At worst, they'll just run you out of town.
