Rally Report (part 3)

by Daggy

The bonus stop in Cambridge had us writing down the name of one of the businesses in the old courthouse square:

We end up behind Jayd heading towards Taylors Falls, when I spy another rallier by the side of the road - it's Don and his Bandit, complete with a milk-crate on the back!
At rally speeds, the thought processes happen fast. Is he ok? Bike trouble? Out of gas? Wait, there's an old bug behind the fence there! Quick u-turn:

I was surprised to see Jayd continue on. Just as we were about to leave, I see Beth put the good brakes on her RT to good use, and she quickly tells me the same thing: why are they on the side of he road? Bike trouble? Oooo! An old bug! Smiles all around.

I saw Don ahead of us getting in to Taylors Falls, but our GPS led us too far up the hill. Quickly back towards downtown finds Don, Jayd, and Beth there at the Old Jail Bed & Breakfast:

Beth laughs as she tells me she pulled a "Dave", in reference to the Bonzai Rally, where she left a bonus before me, yet I beat her to the next bonus spot. happy.gif

A quick run across the bridge yields us a WI fuel receipt worth good points.

We let the GPS guide us to Stillwater, where we snag 3 good bonus'.

First, the Warden's House. We need the date on the bottom of this interesting historical sign:

I had no idea Minnesota had dungeons in old prisons. Maybe we should bring them back?

They were setting up for a wedding at the courthouse. We needed the date off the sign there too. Grand old courthouse building:

Nearby we "visit" the max. security facility in nearby Oak Park Heights:

It's like being in the "Just Visiting" corner of the board in Monopoly. Don't want to stick around too long.

To be continued tomorrow ... I need some sleep ...
