Niobrara is in danger

by

Niobrara has been moved a couple times in the past. The school is about 1230 ft, and the Two Rivers Saloon about 1285 feet, chances of it getting that high? Well when you listen to the Corp of engineers it is possible.

Arlene's place is along the Verdigre Creek, and sits about 1295 feet, it is possible if the Missouri get high enough to back flow the Verdigre.

There has sure been enough bad news this year!

Hope and Pray all is well with our friends in Niobrara.

This high water is backed up all the way to Montana, Fort Peck Reservoir is full as well as Garrison and Oahe. Abnormal rains in western SD, Eastern Montana and Wyoming have added to the 140% snow pack in the rockies, along with a later than normal melt. All of this has led to historic high water levels along the Missouri.

Of course the water from the Missouri dumps into the Missisippi at St Louis, and the Missisippi is already having it's problesm from Cairo Ill on down.

Even the mighty Metropolis has been flooded. Superman probably got his boots wet!

IN the last 10 years Oahe has been down, people said we would NEVER see it full in our lifetime..... here is a tip NEVER try to outguess Mother nature, she will bite you and with a vengance!
