Just now checked the board...lot has happened the past few days.
I like the simplification to USA. Just in OH I count about 155 towns that meet the USA theme in my Atlas. Meaning there are more, now if they have a building with a sign on it (other than the PO)...that is the fun.
Does South Point, OH count? ( e.g. do towns with the prefix "South" count?)
Even with this streamlined format, everyone's totals should go up, without mileage going up.
I agree, with the other AMERICA format + VFW + Murals...a person could easily get 500 with just doing weekend rides. ( It is a neat idea, though ).
Eliminating Post Offices is going to make for more "busts." In 2011 I visited 73 post offices ( or about 20% of my stops ), and I was trying NOT to use a Post Office if I could help it.
The best part about this Grand Tour...we know what the theme is early, so for me when the snow and ice come ( 71 sunny degrees today ) gives me entertainment locating sites and planning rides.
